Is there a reason why Connect is not open source software unlike Lemmy itself and many more Fediverse clients/servers?

Didn't kuro say it was only for the short term, while the initial development to get things up to speed would take a lot of time making the code updates available? Or was that a different app?

Been wondering the same thing myself. Closed source clients like Connect, Summit, Boost, and Slide seem antithetical to the entire philosophy of Lemmy and the Fediverse
