Not true. It was most likely a spam filter. Images and longer messages work fine.

Didn't this also happen on Reddit when people were posting the alternatives? Links/posts got removed, the subreddit about alternatives got shut down

Facebook has always been removing posts and comments containing links to Fediverse. At least they did a couple of years ago. But it doesn't happen all the time, so there is some kind decision making algorithm.

But what if you just shared the link in "captcha" style so the censorshop ai doesn't detect it?

There are ways around it, like link shorteners and so forth, but the main point is that Meta is afraid.

Didn't get banned, but they marked the post as spam. That was 3 days ago. Maybe they're blocking now as well.
