E integrates an own cloud service deep into its Android distro.

Unlike even apple, it dosent have any excryption, anonymisation, or even a fucking page saying when they sent what data to authorities.

And since they have this partnership, they have an incentive (Dont know if financial or not) to hinder other, way better backup services like Calyxˋes local, encrypted and honestly way easier to use backup tool.

Unrelated, but Their Installer is also dogshit.

Do you have to use the cloud service? Can't you simply disable it and use your own solution (commercial or DIY).

You cant really back up android apps through normal apps, it has to be integrated into the image, so youll have to modify your e image

And as far as I know you cant back up locally, only with something like Calyx

Sorry, but doesn't GrapheneOS have it before?

/e/OS is highly insecure, and Murena tries to sell privacy to customers, while offering an unencrypted cloud service, that honestly isn't any better than mainsteam solutions like Google Drive, OneDrive or whatever.

At this point, you're better off getting an iPad, and using iCloud with the Advanced Data protection program.

If you actually want a secure, privacy-friendly and degoogled tablet, get a (preferably used) Google Pixel tablet, and install GrapheneOS on it. It's not just the most secure mobile OS out there, but it also doesn't come with any integrated cloud nonsense, so you're free to choose which service you want to use and whom you want to trust with your data.
