Historical Artifacts

Just a community for everyone to share artifacts, reconstructions, or replicas for the historically-inclined to admire!

Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

Generally speaking, ruins should go to [email protected]

Illustrations of the past should go to [email protected]

Photos of the past should go to [email protected]

This is only interesting for the depiction of swastikas. If you want to talk about the meaning of that pre-nazi era you should do so with more intent. The post really just looks like you want to either be edgy or communicate acceptance for Nazi symbols. I don't think you should have posted this.

Yeah god forbid someone posting interesting things.

This is not an interesting thing though.

First: yes it is.

Second: accusing PugJesus of being Nazi affiliated disregards all the other posts where they strongly voice their anti Nazi stance. So no, this person really is just interested in history and it's facets.

I am very aware PugJesus is a good guy.

I find it interesting also as an expression of unit pride by an individual - of a fairly expensive, yet non-ostentatious variety. The kind of thing that's not quite show-off-y, where everyone will notice it, but the sort of thing a man can look down at and smile with a bit of pride and private satisfaction at. It really speaks to that timeless sense of unit loyalty military men develop. ~~THIRTEENTH!~~

Swastika's ancient, man. Outside of a 20th century context, it's just a common symbol.

If you're so concerned about Nazis then stop calling it swastika and start calling it hooked cross cause that's the proper name, hakenkreuz. It's a Christian symbol.

English speaking colonizers chose to associate Nazi symbol with non-white religions by using a Sanskrit name, for some reason.

The date/age is in the title. How much more clarity do you need?
