I had never heard about pączkis until i moved to Ohio. I guess we just didn't have large Polish populations in St. Louis. I had a bit of trouble filling them when i treid last week, but i think i figured it out last night.

I live here and haven't heard of them until earlier last week. Ive seen them before buy just figured they were custard donuts.

For those who have never heard of these, I'm told its pronounced "ponch-key" or "putch-key".

I'm here to inform you that Germans call them "Berliner" and if anybody should ever tell you different, they would be lying through their teeth.

Here we sometimes call them Kennedys. On account of the red goo spilling out the hole in the side.
