2 passes. Face lather. Good shave.

I have these stages where, regardless of the razor I use, I need three passes instead of my normal two. I noticed this a couple of days ago, and it really set in today. The edge was comfortable and keen enough. I think my technique is unchanged. I just needed three passes today.

Wood Shop, of course, was a lot of fun; as it is in real life.

I again find myself doing a night shave for BAM. For me, the biggest surprise of March Madness has been the fact that BAM has been in the lower tier of soaps used every time. They’re widely beloved in this community and rank highly on our lather logs. So it’s surprising they would be struggling so much in the rankings.

I am, however, reminded that I don’t care for this scent a lot. Not that it’s bad; it’s just not entirely my cup of tea. But I wanted to go with something less in-your-face for this night shave, and this one certainly delivers.

I'm voting for MacDuffs today, an artisan that I've only discovered a few months ago in the Buena Vista Wetshaving Social Club. This soap base really appeals to me; it loads easily into a stringy protolather not unlike Milksteak's and Shannon's and it hydrates progressively into dense wet lather without surprises. The scent in this soap is MacShire, not in that it smells the same as Mammoth Shire, but it has the same happy, outdoorsy feel and also plays with blending fresh and warm notes. It's right down my alley. The splash is a lot sweeter, and different enough that I almost don't consider them matching. Wonderful morning shave.

And now, I'm curious to see who will get the boot today.

Day 3 of the TSF domination era of March Madness. Round 2 saw TSF drop a few spots due to Mammoth Monday rigging the election. Today, there will be so many TSF shavers it will be TOO BIG TO RIG!

Post Shave: Chiseled Face - Gemutlichkeit - Aftershave
Fragrance: House of Mammoth - Rumble - Eau de Parfum

TSF Fantasy Donut, CF Gemutlichkeit, and HoM Rumble are all right at my limit for gourmand, sweet scents. That said, these are fantastic, and I smell like a high-end coffee shop and bakery.
