I think those websites are over using trackers in their websites for extra profit with no care for the privacy of their users, I highly recommend avoiding them.

The verge's trackers are especially insane.

Good post OP, you've raised an interesting problem. Private frontends for all these news sources would be incredibly useful.

Since it'd be counterproductive to post privacy-invading links to a privacy community, i'll keep an eye on what people post, and encourage alternative links from now on. Thanks for posting this
