Oh, would you look at that! I very happily eat my words; it just looked like there wasn't any federation going on over there earlier. Happy to be proven wrong.
In either case, eventually we will probably close this community and shift over to the communities hosted over there.
Backups are cool too, you don't need to erase it all.

Would love to see us on matrix or simplex instead of discord, or at least a matrix bridge
I strongly feel discord is an inappropriate place for resistance, and it is almost impossible to use anonymously
They have a signal group.
It may take time to build a reliable group, but at least you are more open to express your discontent here.
Are you from the USA? Can I ask you? Wtf is going in? Reddit (and many other are surprising free speech, and everyone is staying in reddit and Twitter? Even the resistance?!
Not person you were replying to but am in USA. Talk of moving to lemmy is growing and awareness spreading.
Reddit just introduced more stringent enforcement against promoting violence including enforcing those that upvote posts deemed to be violent. It sounds like quite a few posts that are objectively not violent have been marked as such.
Reddit is more well-known than Lemmy, and there is always a lot of inertia keeping people using the same social media they've always been using. Also, most of the communities people engage in are not on Lemmy.
By the way, are you not in the US? What made you decide to create this community dedicated to an American-focused topic?

And I’m really surprised.
I’m in the U.S. and also very surprised. Those supporting Trumps agenda lack critical thinking, education, and self awareness. Then there is a great deal of people unaware of what’s going on, who also lack some critical thinking, but mostly just too busy being work slaves to have time to stay in the loop. However, with Trumps agenda enforcing more restrictions on people, those “unaware” are becoming aware.
