Seeed studio has some cool stuff! I'm waiting on 2 sensecap card style nodes from them to test out. If they work well I'm going to buy a handful of these and maybe some dedicated GUI devices. I live in a natural disaster hotspot.

I'm a fan of the T1000-E!
Nodes with large antennas will get you more performance of course but it's not easy to keep one of those on you. For the size it performs well with transmission, reception and battery and it can easily go wherever you go
I coincidentally just got two of them today! I'm getting sub 1km in my neighborhood between my nodes, but the one I suck up in the attic earlier is consistently pinging nodes in cars as they drive on an overpass 6.6 km away! Pretty neat.
Do you have any recommendations for long range nodes, maybe atenna?
The antenna page in the docs has a section called "Testing Reports" and there's a link to a Github repository and that will give you a whole list
For the T beam supremes I chose the Taoglas 2113 and it's been solid. The ability to bend it 90 degrees lets me get lay it on the long side and keep it plugged in if I want
This is interesting, unlike the heltec v3 it has PSRAM so can support store and forward.
Forgive my ignorance, but isn’t Meshtastic already like <$15 normally?
On the budget end yes but most boards in that price range won't come with batteries or antennas. I have a few TBeam Supremes that totaled about $80 each when I set them up the way I wanted.
Yeah, this isn't unusual for low end kits, but Seeed are getting a rep for quality but affordable in all areas of the LoRa spectrum.
