MARCH MADNESS 2025 DAY 29

  • Brush: AP Shave Co w/ G5C
  • Razor: Chiseled Face Legacy Ti
  • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
  • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - Azure
  • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles - Azure splash
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth Sonder

It’s been a good month of chaos. I totally slept on C Bubs until u/brokenjaw622 put me on them with a more than generous amount of smushes. I now have 3 full size tubs and a sample tub. As much as of a C Bubs Stan I’ve been, Will is equally of deserving of a win if he gets it. It’s nice to have a bunch of cool artisans in the community.

Saturday, March 29, 2025

  • Brush: Omega - 10048 boar
  • Razor: GEM - MMOC (first gen, 1930-1932)
  • Blade: Personna - GEM PTFE (8)
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Paganini's Violin
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Paganini's Violin Aftershave splash
  • Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented Aftershave balm
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz - SIR Irisch Moos EdT

This morning, I voted again for BaM with Paganini's Violin. Some joke that this is a really well-done unscented soap, and I get the joke, but after spending time with it, I'm impressed by how well-rounded and subtle the scent really is.

The creamy tea and clean skin scent is perfectly pleasing when I want something mild. It's a great clean scent.

Finished off with Irisch Moos this morning because I'm excited about the sheep tallow I, Rich Moose from Stirling. Very much looking forward to that soap.

Have a great Saturday y'all, and let's go BaM!

PV is my go to when I just want something mild and understated. I still smell it throughout the day, but it's just the right kind of mellow

Yeah, the longevity is pretty wild for such a mild scent.

I don’t reach for it super often, but I never regret it when I do.

I hope Bubbles wins this, but I felt compelled to have a little Chypre in my life today.

That turned out to be a dangerous decision, this was as close as it gets

Same gear

Elysium pineapple ambrosia.

This soap ( and splash) appeared once day with a 1914. Unexpected and a massive surprise courtesy of hairy.

Does show how awesome folk on the sub are

March 29, 2025

  • Brush: Wild West Brushworks Blue Space 26mm Cashmere

  • Razor: Union Razor Co. 6/8" Full Hollow Round Point

  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Le Grand Chypre - Soap

  • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann - Le Grand Chypre - Aftershave

3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

I purchased this razor for about $12. The razor arrived with a dull, ragged edge so I decided to perform my entire honing progression on an 8000 grit Shapton Glass stone video. Today's shave was a test of the edge that I created. I had a full-on BBS, comfortable shave with this razor.

Last shave of March Madness, this has been a really fun event. Used Roam trifecta from the 5 years release. Gonna be a Roam post tomorrow afternoon, keep an eye out!

  • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Vespers - Puck
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Unscented - Aftershave

Decided to use one of my favorite BAM scents to round off a wonderful month of shaves. This was an incredible contest; absolutely loved the Royal Rumble format. Thanks so much to /u/ShavingInCT for running this event—it was a great way to get through the grey doldrums of March.

Mar 29, 2025 - MM25: Catie's Bubbles

This matchup may be close, so I'm casting my vote for CBubs with today's use of the incredible V.
