Can be a symptom but not always. For example my fiance has this all the time but not sleep apnea
Hypnic jerk is the name of the phenomenon.
I used to get this all the time when I was really young, like less than 8, but I'm an adult now and haven't had it happen since then at all. I wonder why?
I used to get struck with sleep paralysis all the time and similarly it just stopped one day. Stupid body
It feels like it happens more often the more active I was during the day, and as a kid hooo man very physically active.
