commodore C64 (extended) font (www.splintered.co.uk)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Created by @[email protected].

recreation of the default pixel font on the commodore C64.

this recreation includes most of the box drawing and block element characters, mapped to the equivalent unicode points. in addition, the checkerboard block elements have been mapped to U+2591, U+2592, and the U+25F0 – U+25F7 range.

in addition, the font has been slightly expanded to include the right and down arrow, and a handful of accented characters. apart from these, only the characters present in the computer's firmware have been included.

I think this is a complete c64 font... https://style64.org/c64-truetype

Our C64 TrueType fonts provide monospace and variable pitch versions of the legendary C64 character set. Our goal is to provide all 304 necessary glyphs in the C64 character set in as small a file as possible while still being programmer/builder friendly.

Why only "most" of the original block characters? There were only 128 characters to begin with, so why did the creator stop?
