Those SimpleLogin addresses do really look sus. When you don't use custom domain option, your address looks like autogenerated bot email or temporary disposable email. I guess it will take some time for world to catch up with concepts of email privacy and email aliases. This is the first time I see this thing, and I'm hyped to try it myself!

I had the same happen to me with addy.io, I've used that for years on the game but at some point a few months ago I just couldn't log in on new devices, same "too many requets" error for me.
In my case I opened a ticket as well and they were very responsive, they told me that I was encouraged (but not obligated, apparently) to change my email address to a different domain, I wanted to be on the safe side and created a purpose made secondary proton mail address, haven't had any issues since with that, but it sucks that aliasing services are getting blocked
Thanks for sharing. I guess I don't mind giving Hoyo my real address because I already bought stuff from the store. Still, I feel like they should at least whitelist people who already made accounts with email aliases or something. :/
Ikr, it's silly to be locked out like that
It might be that they just have issues with sending verification codes. Last week I was trying to log in and had to wait 10 minutes for an email. But obviously it wasn't this simple because I clicked resend the moment it became available so the code I got was already outdated. I tried again and only after the third try I realized I just need to wait much longer for actual verification. It took me more than 30 minutes to log in and that's with Gmail account. Absolutely horrible process. The old code shouldn't expire after the new one is generated.
On the side note Hoyo all of the sudden started blocking Linux again. After 3 years of working out of the box on Linux. Currently the best you can do is to use patched wine build. At least I learned how to patch and compile wine but obviously on steamdeck it wouldn't work for whatever flatpak sandbox reason so I wasted an hours until I got it working. Ehh. It's funny because it all happened just before I had a thought: "wow they actually improved the game quite a bit lately." I guess they had to break something to make up for it.

It's possible but the longest I waited before trying to log in again was 24 hours. After that, I thought "maybe they're blocking my email". They also replied to my ticket with this just an hour ago:
So it does seem like they think my email was some "potential risk".

Ah that sucks. I used to play on Linux. I really hate it when the only games I play break on Linux so I've been using Windows for the past year or so. At least it's not entirely broken and there's a work around.
24h is insane! I honestly don't know what is even the point of email confirmation. For account creation sure. For login? Can't they see I'm constantly logging from the same IP. But sure 2FA is important I guess but let me just use OTP.
Fortunately every game I play works on Linux. Hoyo games are working thanks to the incredible community that also made WuWa work. I'm sure if they completely break genshin the patch will come. It's just funny how you can see in some behind the scenes at Hoyo headquarters they have steamdecks laying around and some of the dev even had Arch installed yet they break it anyway.
In any case I'm too attached to Linux at this point I'm not switching no matter what. I have way too many games that work with no issues.

Lmao that's actually neat, do you have a link to the video?
Only screenshots of the video and I couldn't find the steamdeck one but I did find that one with Arch:
lol that's so funny. Someone really went "Wait let me do a neofetch before we shoot the video."
Very based standard Linux usage 😌
