Same. My cat spends 80% of time in a carrier which I put on a shelf. I guess that is his private, safe space.

We keep one of our cat carriers out because one of our cats likes to curl up in it.
We had to take another cat to the vet a few weeks ago, so I went to grab it... Nope, occupied, with the wrong cat. Rather than deal with that, I just got a different carrier.
My girl likes to sleep in her carrier, and I want her to sleep on my bed, so I simply have a carrier on my bed 24/7
Honestly it's so much better than having your cat be afraid of the carrier, more people should leave theirs out in the open for the cats to interact with regularly
I got them used to it by integrating cat carriers in my homemade cat trees. They mainly like to sleep in there when they aren't home though.
