"New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on Sunday again declined to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” but emphasized he would be a mayor “that protects Jewish New Yorkers” if elected in November."

"“I’ve heard from many Jewish New Yorkers who have shared their concerns with me, especially in light of the horrific attacks that we saw in Washington, D.C. and in Boulder, Colorado, about this moment of antisemitism in our country and in our city,” Mamdani told Welker. “And I’ve heard those fears, and I’ve had those conversations.”"

But rather than reject the phrase

So it kinda sounds like he does reject that particular phrase but this article still wants to attack him for it

I want to see the candidates also grilled on whether they condemn the Israeli government for the genocide in Gaza. Why isn't that one being asked? (rhetorical - we all know why.)

  • media: "do you condemn this thing you've never said?"
  • Mamdani: "that's not language that I use. I believe in universal human rights, including for Israelis and Palistinians. I've heard firsthand from jewish people their experiences and fears regarding antisemitism. This is why I've committed to increasing funding for anti-hate crime programming by 800%. Unlike Trump, I will not police speech. I will speak with my actions by protecting jewish New Yorkers."
