you should really brush the cat. that fur is clearly compressed and at risk of being matted if it's not already matted. the cat most likely sucks at grooming itself properly. it'll only cause pain for the cat and get worse.

Oh, she's matted alright. We spend time combing through some spots and then pull other pieces apart by hand. I hoping to prevent the need to power shave her.

very much reminds me of a previous white haired cat. I could brush daily and that cat would grow fur back so darn quick and it would do the same thing. just clump then mat.

hopefully it doesn't cause any issues for the cute furball
