An iPhone that can turn into an iPad Mini sounds nice, but have foldable screens matured enough to be practical, reliable, and - most importantly - resilient?

This is the question, each version of the Fold I’ve waited a month and searched for complaints about the screen.

The screens have undoubtedly got better but there are still hundreds of complaints about visible damage to the fold line reported within a month of release. Only just over a month before the Fold7 results are due!

The fold is distracting on every foldable I’ve seen, and worse, all the screens feel terrible in use. Flimsy/plasticy

Also becoming as thick as two phones when folded is not something that interests me. When it comes to concepts I've been more I intrigued by ones that roll out, but who knows how many years it'll take to not be fragile and be reliable.

Well the foldables (like Galaxy Fold 7) are already under 9mm. So being the size of two phones days are over.

I think this is where the tech going into the iPad Pro and iPhone Air is destined to end up, if they can get the thickness of each side into the low 5mm ballpark, then a 10mm folding phone vs. a 8-9mm pro model and its not much thicker.

I’d trade 1-2mm thickness for a 5.5” form factor (please submit your jokes below)

Interesting thing is when I got my iPad Pro and was looking into cases I saw comments of people finding their tablet bent slightly after use with how thin I was. So I made sure to go for one with rubberized edges so it didn't require force to put in or take out.

And I would have taken a thicker one to house a bigger battery and not have bending concerns.

And when it comes to phones I wish phones were as thick as the protruding camera bump so it is completely flush and flat. And get more battery life.

But, I'm probably unusual in wanting that.

Considering other rumors say this product hasn’t been finalized because engineering isn’t satisfied with current OEM screens…

[X] doubt.

Finally another way to nerf batter life even more

Did anyone ask for this?
