I have never heard of a USB hub/docking station introducing latency

I thought so too, but plugging in my logitech 2.4 ghz dongle directly into my macmini led to bunch of skipping until I used my monitor USB. So led me to wondering if that was something to look out for when picking up a dongle hub too.
And sure enough searching for the keyword wireless for this product led to people saying they got lag with their peripherals.

If plugging in directly causes interference, but using your monitors USB hub doesn’t that’s contradictory to your theory of hubs introducing lag, in fact the opposite the hub here fixed your lag. Also it’s important to note that lag, latency, and interference are all different things. It sounds like you have an interference problem with the dongle close to the mini but not the monitor, which introduces lost packets which behave differently than lag or latency.

I never said my usb hub was introducing lag. Nomenclature may be incorrect, but it's just some words people have used to basically say interference. I was asking for recommendations on usb dongles people use that have been reliable, since some product reviews have shown issues with wireless peripherals.
I don't know if this is relevant, but might explain why not all usb hubs will be problem free.

USB-C and USB 3.1 comms can create a lot of RF noise which could manifest as lag. I saw this on a laptop with an external hard drive, when the backups were running the wifi died.
I’m gonna second the interference opinions- your monitor is probably closer to your mouse and not jammed behind a computer next to all kinds of Wi-Fi antennas. I bet a simple usb extender cable that put the dongle closer to the mouse would work too. I had trouble with Logitech wireless being interference sensitive in the past.
Aware of it. I'm just seeking usb dongle recommendations people have had success with, since there are varying qualities where I've seen in some reviews people have issues with wireless peripherals while other models didn't. The one in my monitor has been reliable, but I need more ports.
My razor wireless is tied to a hub that is 12 inches away. I get no lag/pauses but when it's in the PC that is under the desk or occasionally disconnects. I literally bought the cheapest thing on Amazon.
Here’s one I use.

There’s a white tp link version but I had issues with it stopping network activity randomly.
If profile matters and you don’t need Ethernet then this one is solid

Comments seem kind of mixed for both when it comes to wireless with some saying it is working and some saying it doesn't. I'll probably have to order test it.
I mean you do you.
My mouse is a Logitech g pro super light.
Keyboard is a Logitech g613
I have specifically had issues with the g613 on other setups. Specifically with repeating keys etc.
But the Ethernet hub one does perfectly fine. I play games on it basically nightly.
The anker I just use as a travel hub. But have used it in a pinch on my laptop setup.
I have it connected to windows most of the time but had run it through a kvm and on a late 2012 Mac mini. Used that as a work machine through covid on the same setup. Only difference is kvm is gone now
