A volcano in southwest Iceland erupted on Monday night, after weeks of seismic activity.

Pretty images from far away (for most of us) ... but don't forget Laki volcano on Iceland led to two years without a summer harvest, and hence to the french revolution - these eruptions can have a big influence on history (future)...

After all that edging it finally released? That took awhile and I'm sure there's some level of relief from the Icelandic people.

For anyone who doesn't know, Iceland has been experiencing thousands of earthquakes over the past monthish while waiting for a volcano to erupt. There hasn't been a day that I don't see some split road on my news feed in reference to those quakes.
