I read that as 1996 and was thoroughly confused

Well, that was fairly strange.

Movies didn't have ratings back then. I don't believe ratings first existed until 1968.

Which makes it de facto 'G' rated. It was shown in regular theaters with no warnings. Any movie that was in general release before the ratings system was given a 'G.' So a movie like this would be 'G' if it were released in theaters, but a video tape/DVD would have a different rating, and a TV broadcast would have a third, different rating.

That's like saying that Greek students 3,000 years ago get an automatic B+ when there was no formal grading system.

Read what I wrote. If a movie made before the rating system was rereleased today it gets a 'G' rating for theaters. As a DVD or broadcast it would get a different rating.

Sorry, but your original comment was not clear enough. Now that you explained it better, I understand now. Thanks.

No problem. Enjoy your day.

I really don't understand how this is "funny." I mean, yes, the scene is light-hearted (I think), but is the funny part here the combination of the title, the description, and the post?

"Look, family friendly movie, tee-hee!"

Is that it?

I saw it and cracked up. That's why I put it 'funny.'

It was an unusual scene for sure.
