The American "left" is less gun oriented or violence prone than those on the right.
We yielded that ground for an assortment of reasons. There is no credible left wing terroristic threat. There is on the right.

It's trite and it's been said by many. The main thing I've learned from studying history is that people don't learn from history (or not enough do).

What you describe is the least effective army that can be assembled. Not saying they wouldn't try, mind you... But that's not a group you give guns and put into a battlefield.
