Kim & Kim performed ‘Little Trouble Girl’ from Sonic Youth's album 'Washing Machine' live for the first time on Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.

I once spent a night in a tent next to a zoo quarantine building that had a newly arrived snow leopard in it. She was sad and we heard about it all night!

Thanks for saying!

The progenitors of post-rock. It's a "genre" that I only dabble in at the edges, so haven't really listened to any Bark Psychosis, despite recognising the name.

I took another listen to a few songs from Hex, including this one. It's atmospheric. Thanks for prompting me to do so.

I happened upon this live performance of their first single, today. Apparently, Glasgow's Altered Images got an early break when they supported Siouxsie and the Banshees on a tour in 1980 and then John Peel championed them.

Although this song has gothy undertones, they went on to have some chart hits with a more new wave sound.

Clare Grogan, their singer, is said to be the inspiration for Spandau Ballet's song, True and some of you might recognise her as Kristine Kochanski from the Red Dwarf TV series, as well as other acting roles.

What do you think of their new songs? Edit - when I say "new", I mean the unreleased and newer stuff that's getting released in March.

Deep Sea Diver has been around for a while but I haven't listened to their stuff before. The new album is out today/tomorrow. I will go and have a listen.

You're welcome!

No only does Richard Ayoade, AKA Moss from the IT Crowd, direct this new video, his wife and children also appear in it. Fay Milton from Savages is the drummer, having also contributed drums, strings and synth to Kim's album. I think it's a pretty neat vid.

A lovely tune.

I liked it, thanks. I wouldn't call myself in any way a BJM person, however I do have the One Dove album and Dot Allison's first solo album.

This captures a vintage performance with very good quality soundboard audio, coupled with slightly more gritty handy cam footage and a bit of TV broadcast vision edited into the middle.

The blurriness is authentic because, if I had of been in the audience, I probably would have had several ciders beforehand.

I found this brief recap of Lambert's life and work.

Thanks, I had a listen. I could really picture them playing at a festival like this.

It's already Friday 14 Feb where I am, so that means that I have been able to stream the new Horsegirl album Phonetics On and On a couple of times, over breakfast. I really like it. This track is the ninth of the 11 songs on the album.

You're welcome. I am glad you like that one. Thanks for replying.

Thought I would share a track I just heard on a radio show I listen to. A gorgeous, jangly sound from this duo who are based in Wiltshire, in England. Album coming in March, they say.

Bitch Prefect were an Adelaide-formed, Melbourne-based act that got classified as part of a hyper-local genre known as "dolewave".

A band from Sydney who are a blend of jangle and punk rock. Their most recent release is from 2021, an album called Idiocracy.

Keep an eye out for a brief appearance from Amy Taylor from Amyl and the Sniffers in this video.

Before Sophie Ellis-Bextor became a million selling dance pop diva, she was best known for being the daughter of a children’s TV presenter and also as the singer for this Britpop band.

the audience’s drummer was Patrick Hannan, who was previously in The Sundays.

As I’ve said elsewhere, I like a good rooftop music video.

A regular of their live set, The Replacements perform this version in 2015 in London. Here's the original by The Only Ones.

Discogs says that a live recording of this cover version first appeared on disc in 1989.

For something completely different, here are The Coal Porters with their version.

I like this one. I prefer this to The Cure's version, I think.
