I’m working on building out a similar stack on Podman. Anyone know how much of this would be easily or directly transferable to that?
I recently watched a video on exactly this. Thought it was pretty well done.
DEI and the Rise of the Modern Slur by Garrison Hayes on YouTube.
I don’t think I’d correct you at all! I think that act of at least questioning, or maybe double checking is a better phrase, that your sense of self actually matched the person you are in your head is absolutely not exclusive to queer people. I think neurodivergent people also deal with this, particularly those diagnosed later in life. There’s a huge set of language you learn once you realize you are neurodivergent that is there to help you give yourself more tools and grace to grow into the person you truly are. This is true for much more than just queerness and neurodivergence, but those are some good examples of people that often go through some in depth soul searching to become confident in who they are or want to be and have to develop very specific language to discuss those things.
- Allmansright is a “Bronx made and founded ultralight gear lab”
- Tough Cutie is a women first outdoor clothing company, for now only has socks I would compare to SmartWool and DarnTough
- ITA Leisure is “the first Black-owned and woman-owned outdoor furniture and goods brand”
- Roam Loud is a femme poc first athleisure brand with all classic base layer needs
- HowNot2 is a small(er?) technical climbing gear store with a YouTube channel on which they test all the gear they sell to breaking.
I’ll try to keep tracking down more, but these were some tabs I had open.
I am also grieving the loss of REI as my go to outdoor supplier. I’d personally say Huckberry isn’t a full replacement as REI also does climbing gear, cycling, small boats, not just apparel and camping. I’m working on a list of my own of different businesses specifically to replace REI, because the reality is it was near unique in its offerings as a one stop shop.
This looks great! Willing to share the recipe?
