The more you think about it, the stupider the idea is.

Besides the obvious security problems, Air Force 1 is to a regular plane what a Formula One racer is to a regular car. Someone else pointed out things like counter-surveillance measures, refueling, etc etc.

It would be twice as expensive to retrofit it.

True story. Back in 2008 there were two op-ed pieces on the smae page of the Murdoch owned New York Post.

One said that voting for Obama was a waste of time, because he was a centrist neoliberal who'd only serve up milder versions of GOP programs, so you'd be better off with an actual Republican.

The other screamed that he was a radical Socialist who would destroy America.

Same newspaper, same page, no irony

Realistically, it would probably cost more to retrofit a plane than to just build it from scratch.

Besides the obvious corruption, it's a national security issue. I'm not an aircraft designer, but I'm pretty sure there's quite a bit of electronics aboard that craft. Pretty easy to slip in a few listening devices.

The tl, dr is that Trump gave his co-writer full credit and half the profits of the book, which was a lousy deal for Trump. The co-author took the money and ran.

I'm a native New Yorker. Donald was a fixture in the local media for decades before he broke into national fame.

I've never heard a single story where he doesn't come off as a petulant loser with an endless well of wantiness.

At least you could say Nixon had a strong work ethic; that Reagan really could give a speech; that Bush Jr. loved his family. Hitler liked dogs. You can't even say Trump likes his pets.

I learned to type on an IBM Selectric that weighed more than a Volkswagen. Godzilla couldn't have broken that thing.

So, you're saying that the money you could be sending to refugee kids is better spent buying you booze?
