Yeah, his blow-up with Rubio 100% confirms that he genuinely thinks that layoffs - not retirements, but actual firing someone - are a metric for success, and that every government contract can be canceled and the whole value of the contract is somehow recovered, which is amazingly idiotic.

Seriously. They honestly think that they can help move along and destroy the country and that 1) everyone will forget in 18 months that they voted to capitulate and won't remember if they voted for a shutdown, and 2) that they will STILL easily pick up wins in 2026 if they capitulate.

There's a lot of people in the center that feel alienated by all the vocal lunatics on the far ends of both sides.

Not that multi-party democracy is a fix on its own, but coalition governments can sometimes do a better job representing people than "round up to L or R or GTFO"

It's Forbes - if they don't use an image in the thumbnail of a thing people know, they might as well not use anything. It's normie-facing.

How do those conversations go? Any takers so far?

Curious if Bsky is as far as most people will dabble.

This 1million%

Also grew up being promised that any day now, 1) Bill Clinton will take all the guns, and 2) We'll go to FEMA camps to get gassed. It was all part of the UN Agenda 21 thing that George HW Bush/Clintons/Soros/CNN/Bill Gates and the New World Order One-World-Government are bringing.

Except none of that ever happened. Hm....were those guests on Art Bell in 1998 possibly....wrong?

And yet, 30 years later, here we are.

I doubt this to the point I would bet money against it if I could.

Did you not see that a proposal to amend the constitution for 3 terms was ACTUALLY proposed by a Congressperson from TN?

Depends on what you do with the cities. The Central Valley doesn't want to be its own state.

The State of Jefferson would have started this process, but WWII got in the way. Except that was all predicated on being super racist.

I think if you get a legit Cal3 proposal, you might end up with a Cal4 where they pull from the six-state version where "Silicon Valley" is its own state shows up so that there can be some technopolis with custom laws and insane cost of living. Essentially, turning SFO into another Manhattan.

I would never move back to CA as it is, but if there was a breakup, I might actually go for it.

Depending on who built the house, it's the standard for a "good" house in Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and I think Kenya.

Swearing in Greece and across most of the whole region is hilarious. The actual "I don't care"/"zero fucks given" phrase is to write something on your balls or dick.

So many sayings are mother/whore/balls/dick based - not offensive phrases, just common sayings.

But it has to be something from the inside by a Russian, and he's not naive to that fact.
