I'm moreso curious if laptop functions have been offloaded to phones. If you have a full gaming desktop, do you see the use case for an additional laptop? or if most people here don't see the need for the increased processing power of a desktop, do you just use your laptop and a phone?

For myself, I mainly use my desktop, but I have a bunch of quite old laptops for tinkering.

Any love for Qobuz?

Books in general. I get most things from them

Do you use any particular site to meet penpals? I've been thinking about it, maybe getting a PO box to make it more private - but I see a lot of stories of flaky pen pals that don't write back.

I think I should look into getting some red or orange inks as well.

So we all love pens for the pieces of art they are, but they're also tools. So, what do you write with your pens? Do you journal, do you take notes? Do you use fountain pens for everything or just certain activities?

Personally, I write a lot of snail mail letters to friends, and I also use mine to take notes. I've never done a journal before, but I'm thinking it may be useful in helping me unpack some things. Plus, Midori makes some very nice looking 3 and 5 year journals.

Kon Peki has never let me down, though I have been enjoying Robert Osters Sea Green lately too.

I've been using Bazqux Reader since it's a single guy and seems to work well. I also know that Tiny Tiny RSS is a super cool self hostable one.

Of course, and if you really like his stuff, I would follow his adage, "Books are made out of other books", and start reading McCarthys inspirations. Melville, Faulkner, and Flannery O'Connor among many others.

6749 now, so the number is definitely going down. Hopefully some of the big fish still hold firm.

I think you're primed for the Border Trilogy. All the Pretty Horses is a wonderful book and The Crossing is considered one of his best. If you're feeling like reading something more Faulknerian, his earlier work would be great. Child of God is a shortish read and it definitely leaves an impact on the reader, Outer Dark also being in that same vein.

Finished up my reread of Dune and onto Dune Messiah. I also have House of Leaves and Beckett Molloy trilogy in the wings to start at some point.
