Don't like that the news articles are accepting the framing of "illegal immigrants" in the headline when the names etc are unknown. Sure thats what the white house says they are, but they are not trustworthy

When you've convinced yourself that your parties membership is like twice the size it actually is you make great decisions

Probably something like:

4.3 terrible

2.4 average

3.3 great

🤮 Michigan feels safer than many other swing States but Peters, Nessel, Slotkin, Stevens, and Whitmer are getting worse by the day

Yes, the latest season is very much more on point with the vibe. One of the most pivotal moments, the fourth episode Road to the Spear, is almost identical to how it happened in the books.

Give it a whirl if you've got the time, the show has covered mostly up to the end of book 4, and I would say if you stick with it until the end of book six that is a good point to decide if you want to see it through or not. Also if you're an audiobook fan Rosamund Pike, Moiraine's actress has done the first four books as audiobooks. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading did the original audiobooks which cover the full series , and they are excellent with some phenomenal deliveries, but they did not agree on name pronunciations sometimes in the early ones.

Dana Nessel and the whole board of U of M should be removed from office over this. I doubt Whitmer will do it, but this has got to stop

He was. There are a number of interviews with him and for a time he was in a poly relationship

Um, when I was much younger, before I met Harriet, I had two girlfriends simultaneously, who arranged my dating schedule between them, who was going to date me on which night. They chipped in together to buy me birthday presents Christmas presents. You know, they just sort of shared me between them, you know. And they had been friends before, and I am not quite sure whether or not they made the decision they were both going to date me or not, on their own, before they first met me, it just came about.

Not all the books portrayals of kink are positive, but Robert Jordan was no stranger to the world of kink and queerness. There is at least one character who can be read as very transphobic, but also a part Perrin's storyline has a resolution that made myself and my trans partner cry happy tears. So just go in remembering when it is from, because some parts will probably frustrate, but it is worth the time.

Some little nuggets of kink:

  • Lan and Nynaeve's marriage in the books also has some explicit power exchange vows.
  • the description of the Oath Rods physical sensation is similar to a rope harness
  • Sai'dar and Sai'din follow an (unfortunately gendered) kink split in how they are wielded
  • the damane are a racist/horror colored petplay institution
  • Mat has a 'relationship' with a very domme woman at one point that has a number of edgeplay elements

Hahahaha I think your impulse there would sit well with the author. There are a number of nods in the series to kink culture, and it is easy to see with a trusting partner that the A'Dam could be way cooler used recreationally

Just got to see True Body live with Uniform and Pharmakon. Fantastic show. My partner described them as a mix between Iggy Pop and Bauhaus

Explanation:

spoilerIn the end, when the king's men come to destroy their lives, Thorgil doesn't have the courage to surrender and accept the consequences, while Olmar seeing the devastation finally realizes that it was a lack of courage that got him here https://youtu.be/yoMdeLqbs98

I know there is a lot of doom going around. I certainly feel it. It feels like every fearful anxious nightmare has come to pass and like we are headed into oblivion. It's okay to feel that, it's okay to need some time to get back up.

That said, the fight isn't over. We're on the ropes, we've taken a beating, our leaders have failed us yet again, and our neighbors are actively pushing for the end, but the fight isn't over until we die or give up. Its not much of a meme, but I listen to these words from Andor when I need to remind myself, hopefully they'll find someone who needs to hear them today.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this. Try.

I think capitalism can be understood as a living entity, a being composed of billions of smaller beings (people), essentially cells. It evolves (legally and through market innovations), has an immune response (police), and grows and reproduces itself (imperialism). The cells are independent life in their own right, but they exist almost wholely within the body of capitalism and the structure of their existence reinforces their participation in the greater whole of capitalism. All complex organisms are composites of smaller organisms and I think it makes sense to reason about capitalism and how to go about changing it or destroying it from this lens.

Hi all,

I'm a returning player, and I'm kind of stuck a bit in terms of progress. I have caught up on all quests and have a great wealth of frames and weapons, but I'm still struggling a fair bit every time I load into a steel path mission, or even really some particularly high level normal missions.

I was away for essentially the entire shield gating defensive meta and the AoE weapon meta, and while I feel my modding has caught up somewhat I'm still not sure I'm particularly good at finding or making builds. My warframes feel flimsy, almost regardless of defensive buffs, and while my Kuva Chakhurr hits hard enough to put things down, its somewhat slow and unwieldy while my more responsive weapons feel like they don't put out enough damage to get the galvanized stacks rolling.

So what I want to know from my fellow Tenno is, what do you think is required to really excel in Steel Path? Arcanes, archon shards, helminths, focus trees, weapons, incarnons, specific mods, etc. Anything you can think of that you think "I need to have this set before I toggle over to steel path"
