Here it's obvious they're defederating from Hexbear for ideological reasons but tried to couch it in some "doesn't follow the code of conduct!" bs but they didn't actually give good reasoning for what rules they're not following, they linked a couple comments that weren't even related to federation and a couple more of which I'm extremely lost as to why they're even linked, this is the exact same thing Beehaw did when it included us in the list of instances it was blocking for "hate-speech". Like just say it with your chest it would be way less annoying and smarmy that way
I am informed on the subject, I used reddit quite heavily and extensively at the time and no one ever challenged the narrative that they were banned for "promoting violence"
I have literally only ever heard that CTH got banned for John Brown posting, would you like to offer up some evidence they were banned for something else???
what? I report people on my server all the time, I check their lemmy.world accounts I'm fairly certain I've never seen one actually banned from .world other than like 1 nazi, every other one is banned by lemmygrad admins only
so they can participate in other comms? also 1) that's a lemmygrad comment we're discussing, please actually read through the convos, and 2) It's just like Reddit, there are a ton of inside jokes that don't make sense unless you spend a certain amount of time there but that doesn't mean you can't show up and still enjoy it, but when someone who's used to it goes "yeah they're doing a bit" you don't go accuse them of doing the insult disguised at a joke thing

hexbear users from the news megathreads, who that's most directed towards really, are normally extremely well sourced using both western and Russian propaganda
