What kind of attribution do I need? I'm only talking about the ones who fit the description. Seems to me like trump voters fit that description but hey, if I'm wrong no biggy. After all I am only talking about the ones that do. Can't you just infer that?

I'm fucking sick of talking about race as if it means anything at all compared to class. We need a two step program

1. Tax the fucking billionaires out of existence
2. Stop destroying the biosphere

Want to make that program palatable? We use the billionaire taxes to make life suck less for everyone in a clear, food-on-the-God-damn-table-and-children- in-decent-schools Kind of way.

Racism is real and deadly, but what are we gonna do? Bully the racists into being less racist? Send them off to camps for re-education? Let's just focus on giving everyone enough money that they don't have to rely on some racist boss to give them a job, or a racist landlord to give them (allow then to pay for) a home.

Liberals, such as they are, did have your back. A whole lot of folks who allied with the democrats only because they feared conservative racism against them have just found out that sexism and transphobia are things that they have in common with those conservatives and are now mending fences with them.

I recently tried to explain to Lemmy that non-white working class voters see their social program as weird and off putting. I was downvoted to oblivion just for honestly relating an opinion from people these chronically online "allies" would never hear from, because they simply don't associate with seamstresses/fruit packers/construction site crossing guards etc. Not to mention the majority of these folks can't speak any language but English.

Tell my Chilean wife how she is going to make more money tomorrow than she did today and she will listen. Tell her she is a bigot because she believes that it takes more than "feeling like" a women to actually "be" a woman and she will stop listening. That is what just happened here.

I am from a different cultural context than her and I tend to believe what the people who study these issues have to say ie: gender affirming care saves lives. But to say that this one issue determines a persons entry or exclusion from our ever shrinking tent is political suicide, no matter how much we might wish that wasn't the case.

I doubt we could do much worse if we just elected 11 different provincial/territorial lobby groups that have to caucus together to pass laws.
