I think the combos were easier on mouse and keyboard but the controller controls were fine too. I don't remember it super well but wasn't the secondary attack completely different for some weapons? I don't think holding primary for secondary attack would work.

the victory lap you asked for is in there.

Oh right, that was a thing

I played it like a year ago on insane difficulty. Never played the original nor the new doom.

I really liked the first level where combat is mostly melee and lots of story is happening. Left a very strong first impression. Expected the same pace from the rest so it was disappointing that most of the levels were "We need to reach x location for plot to happen but we telepoted / car broke down too far away so we'll walk for a couple levels". Level structure also got stale, there doesn't need to be an encounter in every room. It would be a much better game if the levels had 1/3rd the encounter count or some levels were merged. I also wish there was a 'victory lap' level between the two final bosses so you could use the magical katana you finally obtained.

I really liked the characters and world building. Business ninja is always a good aesthetic. The banter was nice. Liked Wang being an unapologetic video game protagonist. Magical stuff was fine

The combat was mixed. Weapon variety was pretty good but the weapons didn't feel 'tight' to use like in half life 2. I switched to controller halfway through and it fit the gunplay better. Kinda wish there was more emphasis on movement and melee but I was satisfied with what was there.

I didn't like encounter / enemy design though. The difficulty curve was way too smooth. There are very few enemy types so most encounters are just the same group of enemies you fought 15 minutes ago but with 1 extra foot demon added. And after a while normal encounters start including minibosses too so you need to spend minutes slowly dealing damage to them. There were some encounters that were genuinely challenging and memorable but the vast majority was just walking the marathon and trying not to die in a stupid way. I think it's fair to describe this as a 'low skill ceiling', once you figure out how not to die against each enemy type your progress (at least on insane) is mostly bottlenecked by the dps of your weapons.

Bosses are a different story. They were insanely difficult on insane (first two took me hours each). Beating them was pretty rewarding.

When I bought the game on steam it came with viscera cleanup simulator shadow warrior edition, which I played immediately after beating the game. It was a nice change of pace and made me wish the game itself also had more gameplay variety. I would've loved more human characters too.

Don't really have thoughts on graphics, they were fine maybe a bit too much bloom.

Numerically I think it's a 6/10

Happy birthday!

... consisted of a link to an article featuring the image of a downward pointing pink triangle with a prohibition sign over the top of it.

That's more on Washington Post than Trump.

Doesn't make much sense to me tho, so the graphic is about an ad where.. military is against eradication of lgbtq people? Or did they see someone wearing a pink triangle for solidarity or something and thought it was a woke symbol? Or is it meaningless beyond a dogwhistle? Or was it for free advertising by people outraged by it?

This came up in another thread too. The experiments were all related to hormone therapy. They weren't just listed because they include the word trans

Edit: read the list if you don't believe me.

... transgenic mice to test whether male-level androgens ... are necessary and/or sufficient for androgen inhibition of in vivo LH pulse parameters

They used the transgenic mice to test if hrt works. And the others have nothing to do with transgenic mice, most are explicitly about hrt and one is testing if asthma differences in sex is actually caused by hormones.

Playing modded Witcher 3 through proton. After dying and loading the last save (and perodically while playing) gpu clocks drop such that the framerate is barely above 60 (and very stuttery). Tried enabling framegen, same thing but it drops to 70 ish. It sometimes goes back to normal if I alt tab out and back, but that gets annoying when playing with a controller (especially if it happens in the middle of combat).

I can see the gpu clock dropping and going back up in system monitor. This doesn't happen with any other game. Any advice?

I've forked an app I use myself to add what I thought would be a (relatively) small fix. I then realised it was sort of left in the middle of a redesign/rewrite caused by dependency updates changing / breaking things and decided I needed to finish that if I wanted to see my code on a release. Along the way I got carried away and now the fork feels too large to pull request.

The changes I made don't meaningfully change the app structure but they required multiple refactorings/rewrites and extrapolation of what the redesign was trying to do.

The original developer is active but haven't committed to the repo in a long time. What should I do? I just want people to use the code I wrote. Do I PR and see what they say? Do I make another branch of its main and try to add my changes in more digestible chunks? Do I change the package name and release a build myself? I don't want to figure out a new name / logo etc, especially since the app is largely the same.

There are issues on the original repo about bugs I fixed. I'd like to point them to my fork, but that feels like shilling an unnecessarily made fork. And it doesn't feel right to drop a huge PR on the dev and expect them to accept it or even reply neither.

What do?

I checked, they are system apps. Apparently I denied it to mtp at some point but it still works? Didn't try the other two. What purpose does listing these in the permission list serve other than cluttering it?

I don't think these core system apps used to show up there, anyone?

It also connects to discord, supposed to be blocked since more than a week. No other device or browser I have connects to YouTube, they all get ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED, and only a fresh Vivaldi profile on the same pc also connects to Discord, everything else get ERR_CONNECTION_RESET.

I've tried disabling all extensions, it still connects. Checked its IP address and DNS server and they're the same as other devices/browsers. Any idea what could be going on?
