I'm not even surprised. I predicted that something like this will happen years ago. Most users don't even know about bitlocker (not even talking about recovery-keys). Therefore nobody is storing them. If now the TPM gets cleared somehow, be it a firmware or windows update or something else, you'll lose any access to your data.

I'm not surprised that it happened at all, I'm rather surprised how long it took to happen.

I mean, even if you still used windows, the Xbox prices wouldn't matter for you in any way if you aren't interested in Xbox-Consoles.

It's definitely more than once per year (more like every 2-4 months). And as long as it works (which it does) I couldn't care less.

Yeah. I'm really surprised that r/piracy is still up. I would have guessed that that sub would be killed firstly as it's one of the biggest.

On the other hand there's not really a great alternative to YouTube. I mean, yes there are alternatives but these are still not as usable as YouTube (with Adblocker) is.

Hosting a video platforms on which millions of users upload millions of gigabytes is REALLY expensive so only a tech giant like google can host one to this extend.

Reddit (or the fediverse) are mostly text, some images and few videos. This is much more feasible to host than a YouTube alternative.

But yeah. Normal users probably just don't care in the first place. We'll see what will happen.
