That's alright. When I first saw the episode USS Calilister I thought he was Matt Damon.

Plemons is actually married to Kirsten Dunst. He's got quite a lot of acting credits under his belt. Friday Night Lights, Varsity Blues, and most recently Killers of the Flower Moon with Leonardo DiCaprio.

That's Jesse Plemons. I don't see Video Game Highschool on his list of acting credits in IMDB.

You might be thinking of Bryan Forrest.

Sony didn't have both versions readily available in the Playstation Store. While I did eventually purchase the DLC (which is the deluxe version, not a typical DLC), I'll be damned that Sony didn't make it easy to find the OG version in the store.

And I put that on Sony, not the game publisher. Regardless, BG3 has been a breath of fresh air to gaming this year. About time a studio put out a full game without divvying it up into expansions and DLCs.

Or Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner.

One of the most influential science fiction monologues was ad libbed, and it's so much better than the original script.

Original script:

"I've seen things... seen things you little people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion bright as magnesium... I rode on the back decks of a blinker and watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments... they'll be gone."

Hauer's monologue:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die."

No, the orange spine books are all 1st Edition rules. They were the second printing published around 1983.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

There were a few interesting books published in 1985 by TSR prior to 2nd Edition. Legends and Lore, Unearthed Arcana, and Oriental Adventures.

Legends and Lore was 2e.

The 1985 2nd printing of L&L (where the name was changed and the Lovecraft items were removed) was still under 1st Edition rules. That's the copy I have.

Was Legends & Lore really originally a 1st edition book?
Yes. Legends & Lore was originally a reprinting of Deities & Demigods with a new title and cover. It was later recast into a 2nd edition book. The 2nd edition version contains new content.

I might still have all the basic D&D rulebooks from Basic through Immortals, however they're no longer in their boxes.

IIRC Cthulu was in there. However I have Legends & Lore, not Deities & Demigods. Basically the same book, except TSR changed the name because "the devil."

EDIT

I did not recall correctly. The Lovecraft stuff isn't in the 2nd printing.

I still have almost the entire first edition library of these at my brother's house. I need to get them back.

Apple has acknowledged user complaints that iPhone 15 and 15 Pro phones are overheating, reports Forbes, but said that contrary to speculation, it has nothing to do with the phone’s hardware design. Forbes noted an update to Instagram has already rolled out with version 302, released September 27th, to address some of the issues.

The buzz out of the Code Conference this week is, naturally, all about the disastrous performance of X / Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino, who closed out the two-day affair in spectacular fashion. Vox’s Peter Kafka, who has been going to the conference since it started in 2008, called it “the weirdest session I’ve ever seen.” If I had to sum up the vibe as everyone trickled off to dinner afterward, it would be stunned disbelief. As for Yaccarino, she immediately fled the premises with her six-person security detail.

Destiny 2 has one of the worst — and most hilarious — bugs in its history right now, allowing players to create guns with perks that are game-breaking in activities or PvP. Players can put shotgun frames on auto rifles, resulting in a weapon that obliterates someone in PvP in milliseconds due to the hugely reduced time to kill. Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, says it’s working on a fix.

Lean into it Bungie...let that shit run wild for a few weeks.

HAVANA (AP) — Cuban authorities have arrested 17 people in connection with what they described as a network to recruit Cuban nationals to fight for Russia in Ukraine.

The head of criminal investigations for Cuba’s Interior Ministry, César Rodríguez, said late Thursday on state media that at least three of the 17 arrested are part of recruitment efforts inside the island country.

He did not identify the alleged members of the network but said they had previous criminal records. Some families started speaking up about the case on Friday, and at least one mother said that her son was promised a job in construction in Russia.

Cuba’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the government had detected a network operating from Russia to recruit Cuban citizens living both in Russia and in Cuba to fight in Ukraine. It said authorities were working “to neutralize and dismantle” the network but gave no details.
