How would that work? They are both nuclear-armed states?

How's that been working out over the last 40+ years?

The problem is that the 'Not Perfect' party refuses to actually fight or advocate for universal, popular policies. Instead, the "Not Perfect' party sits on their hands, bullies their base, and waits for everything to collapse so that they are the default option.

  1. Republicans enact cruel and stupid policy.

  2. Democrats refuse to reform cruel & stupid policy because it benefits their backers. In fact, Dems may even brag about how THEY are even better at it.

  3. Cruel & stupid policy predictably backfires - and gets blamed on Democrats who pretend they had no control over anything.

What I suspect is happening is that Trump is attempting to give Democrats an opportunity to get in on DOGE while it still polls well.

They aren't wounded - they just don't have actual values or strategy beyond bullying people to vote for them.

Medicade exists so that poor people don't start demanding single-payer. This will backfire horribly if one's goal is to maintain the stranglehold private insurance companies have on US healthcare.

Probably cheaper than cancer treatments. If you live in a normal country that has universal healthcare it would be a bargain for the government to purchase such a vaccine in-bulk. Then, with time, the prices would go down.

Of course, of you live in the US ... yeah, you're kinda fucked.

I was rooting for him until the last three words of the headline.

As best I can tell, the most racist zionists are usually American-born Israelis.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 8 months ago

I do my best to always use the word Zionist before the word Israeli.

Israel's secularism is irrelevant to the overall racist ideology of Zionism that permeates Israeli society.

I'm not referring to powerless, mouth-breathing, NEETs who normally lurk forums.

But I'm referring to comments from actual members of the Israeli Knesset, public statements from people like the OP, printed editorials in mainstream publications, and modern Israeli celebrities.

When you read through the translations not meant for western audiences - the racism pops out disturbingly. It's such a part of their culture that they don't even notice it as such. Zionists really don't view people in the West Bank or Gaza as humans.

A few months ago I started using Google Translate to read what Israelis are saying amongst each other in their mainstream publications and forums.

My. God. Levels of entitlement and racism that would make a Klansman blush.

Sure, a lot of them want a cease-fire to get the hostages back ... and most don't like Netanyahu ... but the average Israeli Zionist is a racist monster.

Is it an in-joke? Or does the person who makes these just enjoy posting them all day?

ON EDIT: Corrected the title after getting advice from @CommunityLinkFixerBot

I want to create the kind of mud-pit rich people soak in when they visit a spa in Yurp.

I'm going to dig a 1-meter deep pit (That's 3-ish Freedom™ Feet) and fill it with some combination of soil and volcanic ash. I thought for sure there would be some DIY instructions for such a project on the internet .... but I'm not finding one and I don't know where else to ask.
