"What is the most complex program, application or game you have created on Linux? What programming language did you use?"

Debian Unstable (often called Sid) is a branch of the Debian operating system designed for active development of new versions of packages. It is considered the most recent, but also the most unstable of the three main branches of Debian. Other software comes with Oldversion and runs under Wine. Xfce Desktop Environments

Now I'm wondering who uses what development tools. I mostly use Qt Creator myself - I chose it because of its good integration with C++ and Qt projects, and I'm just used to it. On Linux I use Qt Creator, and on Windows I use Visual Studio. I wonder what others use? VSCode, Vim, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDE, Emacs, Sublime or something more rare?

  • Why did you decide to use them specifically?
  • What do you like or annoy you about it?
  • How usable is it in real work?

I would like to know what programming language you use, why you made this choice and for what tasks it is used.

I got curious — how did people even catch viruses on their computers? Was it something a friend sent? Or maybe they downloaded a cracked game or some shady program? Share your stories — would be interesting to read.

The X86_NATIVE_CPU Kconfig build time parameter has been merged for the Linux 6.16 merge window as an easy way to enforce the “-march=native” compiler behavior on AMD and Intel processors to optimize kernel builds for your system's local CPU architecture/family. For those who want “-march=native” for Linux kernel builds on AMD/Intel x86_64 processors, you can easily include a new CONFIG_X86_NATIVE_CPU parameter to set this compiler behavior in local kernel builds. The CONFIG_X86_NATIVE_CPU parameter is considered when compiling the Linux x86_64 kernel with GCC or LLVM Clang when using Clang 19 or later due to a compiler bug in the Linux kernel in older compiler versions. In addition to setting the compiler parameter “-march=native” for Linux kernel C code, enabling this new Kconfig build parameter also sets “-Ctarget-cpu=native” for Rust kernel code.

Well, there are sites that will help better than programs and vice versa.

Why did you write as if I insulted Linux?

Probably each school has its own approach

Here, to be honest, there is some truth, since the phone is more convenient and you can be anywhere with it. BUT this does not mean that the PC is crap, since even when doing firmware on the phone, you can simply be left without it (turn it into a brick), but on the PC you can run ANY DEVICE, including a phone.

  1. DroidCam (Linux client is open-source)
  2. OBS Camera Plugins + Phone Streaming Apps

I wouldn't say so, because many people use PCs, but I agree that they are lazy and don't want to spend a couple of months learning the OS to use it the way they want, at the speed they need, etc. But that doesn't change the fact that when they first started using their PCs, they spent time learning the OS (they just weren't told about Linux, heh)

Why do many people dislike Linux? Freedom and openness: Open source, No vendor lock-in, Many distributions Security: By default, more secure than Windows. Fewer viruses. Regular security updates.

And now briefly.

Control & Flexibility,Free, Developer Friendly, Productivity, Education & Understanding, Support & Community, Support & Community, Package Managers, Server & Cloud Friendly

Oh yeah, I forgot about our gamers! They will whine that you can't play games on Linux. It's very funny because for a long time there has been a program called lux-wine that allows you to open 95% of .exe programs and even more so you can choose any version of Windows without downloading anything, there is like proton and so on.

I am ready to talk to anyone about this topic, but not for the purpose of humiliation or insult.
