After the 3.03b Beta it looks like the release version is out. Good news for people with USB-PD charging issues. My own anecdotal experience: I have a few USB-PD chargers that refused to handshake with with my FW13s including one big Satechi unit. Since the update all are working happily.

Tried a few options, really wanted a soft case. Can't speak highly enough for the think tank case, it fits just right and can accommodate the ethernet module too.

Couldn't be any happier. Now to put it through its paces over the coming days.

Notesnook

Go for the pain tier (even though it's FOSS) 100% worth it.

Never had any issues with the unit. As mentioned I have an old 4x4 with an aftermarket head unit (Sony XAV-AX5000) and have never experienced any audio issues. This car is our family "adventure vehicle" so we use it for long road trips and camping adventures - in short when it gets driven it's often for a longer multi-hour journey, with music playing the whole way

No stress, glad I pointed you down a hopefully workable path. Good luck mate 😉 And yes the US tax. Purchased mine from Amazon US, I'm down in Australia. Even with the higher cost it has been an absolute joy even with my single-phone use case.

I haven't tried the multiple phone song and dance on the unit. It lives in my old 4x4 which my wife refuses to drive.

We do have a similar issue with our other car however '05 Subaru Forester (non Android Auto). It randomly connects phones - as in I can be sitting in the car, start up to go somewhere and the car connects to my wife's phone while she and it are in the house. The only reliable option I've found (only practical if we're both in the car) is to quickly tap Bluetooth off on one phone before starting the car. If your Honda is starting with a Bluetooth connection, then I'm guessing the same solution should work.

Screenshots of the config screen attached. I'm not connected to the unit right now, hence the error message.

  • removable cable
  • configuration app to deal with difficult Android Auto interfaces
  • latest beta firmware includes Android Auto over CarPlay

Every day..

Headlamp while I give the cats dinner every night.

Torch or headlamp to see in my car's boot (Subaru Forester - completely shit boot light).

And many many more regular uses.....

The DM1.12 has become my favourite hiking and night walking light due to its flexibility. SST-20 4000K on both channels.

Also as a Reddit refugee I'm so happy to see this community here. Glad to see you here too /u/zak

Great recommendation on AnonAddy. I know what I'll be seeing up tonight.

Hi all, a shout-out for assistance. I’m considering hosting a Lemmy instance (assuming I can pass the wife test on costs) and I’m looking for some guidance on specs.

Can anyone who’s currently hosting an instance (or who knows the inner workings of one) please reply with:

  • specs on the hardware / VPS that’s hosting your instance
  • how many users / posts that’s supporting
  • what the system load looks like with the above
  • if locally hosting, the type of bandwidth requirements you’re seeing

I previously posted this in the wrong community, and one of the responses asked how many users I'm expecting. To preemptively answer - I don't know. I'm just trying to get an idea of relative sizing.

Thank you!!
