As long as she makes a little offering of pancakes to her god afterwards, it's all good.

Would anyone be interested in a comic book community? It seems like the other comic communities are being camped on by "mods" with empty accounts. I'm not sure if @literature.cafe would allow a majorily image based group.

Martha and John Kent may not have changed the world, but Superman sure did

When I was in middle school, a girl did in fact get a bug bite on her eyeball. It was blood red for a week and she couldn't see well, but long term she was fine.

It just goes to show that the way others see us isn't the same as how we see ourselves.

I highly disagree. You can't expect every comic to be top shelf, especially if you're getting it for free. OP has been improving with every post - because they're gaining experience with practice. Hiring a writer (with what money?) would undermine their own growth. You're welcome to read more polished comics (like The Weekly Roll), but remember that people dont magically spring up with skill in art and writing right out of the gate. Not to mention that once someone starts making "professional level" work it's either paywalled or lower priority than paying work.

Constructive criticism also isn't "just stop doing that". You need to give actionable advice. For example, I always recommend new comic creators pick up the Understanding Comics/Making Comics/Reinventing Comics trilogy by Scott McCloud. They're textbooks that cover all sorts of writing and illustration techniques.

I like this story, and it's certainly better than something I could write or draw. The frequency of updates has been amazing. I'm excited to see where things go.

US Midwest - the restaurants I visit don't have iced tea (IF they serve cold tea, it's the premade kind at the soda fountain). I get a cup of hot water, a single bag of black tea, and sometimes a lemon slice. If there isn't sugar at the table you have to ask for it.

😂 leave that shirt as it is. Use it to decorate your house, and as a reminder of your hubris.

Actually, you're right. You said I had ASPD, not ASD. Sorry about that.

Hey, Abigail here. I just want people to know the reason this guy got banned is likely because of a deleted comment not included in that thread. OP called me autistic for not liking politics. THAT kind of behavior is not acceptable on lemmy.blahaj.zone, so I reported the comment and let Ada handle it. Ada tried in good faith to reason with OP but it was clear they just wanted to fight. So yeah, they got banned. Ada's a fantastic lady who's been great at keeping the trolls at bay.

I love the new tag feature. So far I've seen:

  • YOU
  • OP
  • ADMIN
  • BANNED

I'm wondering what that last one means though. Did the person get banned after writing that comment, or is it a warning that they're banned elsewhere? Did I accidentally block a user?

Recently saw this and wanted to share. Even if you're not in the market for industrial equipment, there's lots here for the average person. There's Juki sewing machines, giant ladders, servers, fancy office furniture, conveyor belts, trucks, band saws, just all sorts of stuff. Most of it is at $10 or less!

There are a lot of communities I haven't subscribed to since there were only 1-2 other users. I've also noticed that some communities started out strong and seemed to practically die.

But today I was looking for a community and searched through lemmy.world instead of my own instance. Turns out the subscribers never left - I just can't see them. For example:

  • if I search [email protected] using my home instance on liftoff, I see 2 subscribers
  • if I look up the same community using lemmy.world, I see 58 subscribers
  • if I look up the community in Google (not logged in), I see 58 subscribers
  • if I click on the [email protected] link in my own post, I see 110 subscribers
  • if I search using my home instance for new communities, say [email protected] , there's 1 subscriber and no posts
  • if I access [email protected] through my saved committees list, I can see posts

I've noticed the same issues on !lemmy.world and !sh.itjust.works , but I can only say that for sure because I know those instances should have more traffic. I don't think my instance has defederated with theirs.

Does anyone know of this is an issue with liftoff, lemmy, or simple defederation?

I've been having issues with searching, and realized this is connected. So when I search for communities through @lemmy.world I can find them just fine. But if I use my home instance @lemmy.blahaj.zone they're missing - even though I know we're not defederated. It turns out if I make posts on other instances, those posts won't show up on my profile.

After the hack my instance changed it's token (?) Which requires logging in again to comment/post. But when I viewed my profile, my posts were there! Then when I logged in they were gone again. I don't know anything about how apps work, but something with how it retrieves instance data is messing with features.
