Last time I felt asleep watching Twitch I woke up in front of a duck pond livestream (which is pretty sick to be honest).

800 millions nice apparently.

Not so fun fact about marketing, they recently fired the head of marketing because he was pushing too much for new fancy ships to sell. He was pushing the devs towards things that can sell.

Management said stop, go work elsewhere, now we polish stuff for a while to have a stable platform for the alpha players before adding new stuff.

So if you could market like him, maybe you’ll be jobless now 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's like religion or something.

Well yeah, people putting money to buy several ships (instead of only 45$ for the basic game package) are buying into a dream. The dream of the perfect space sim, a sim where you can be anything you want. That dream has been growing since Elite in 84 and the X-wing games in the 90. So yeah, kinda religion for the space sim nerds.

Im certain they will deliver, no idea when, but they will achieve it so that’s cool for future gamers. If earth still exists that will be awesome as I will probably be near retirement and will have a shit ton of time to play.

PS: I only own a medium ship that I bought from the kickstarter funding back in 2010-ish ? I wanted it to be my flying space home.

Well, an apple subreddit is 200% more relevant for a Linux user than a Windows sub 🤷🏻‍♂️

a lot of savings

Savings for who? If nothing is changed and manufacturers (and retailers) doesn’t make any kind of commercial gesture, the only ones paying more are the American consumers.

So moving the manufacture would be a saving for every Joe and Jane in the US, not Nintendo nor the ROTW.

Not moving the manufacture might be a loss of % in their US consumer base as prices will be too high there, but is it big enough to justify the enormous costs needed to move an entire industry workflow?

I don’t think so, specially when there is so many instability in the US politic, if you move to an other country at great cost and 2 weeks later a new tariff is declared (because why not), you moved everything for no reason but still lost your investment.

My belief is that no industry nor country will adapt, they will just increase the US market prices and keep on living like before with the ROTW. The only ones to suffer will be the American citizens and I’m sorry for them, but there is an all planet to trade with.

That would cost them enormous amounts of cash and hours of work just for one market.

There’s no point, the best option is just to ignore the US and let them pay more than the rest of the world, even if that means fewer sales.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Oh yeah right, I didn’t think about that.

Still LinkedIn lunatic but that would make more sense.

Welcome fellow cheese lover. If you’re from where I guess you’re from, we have a few communities for our big plus country.

Most of ~~normal~~ French speaking in on the jlailu instance, example the not very active [email protected].

I think there are some English Switzerland communities and I don’t know about German, they are probably linked with the main German instance (like we are on jlailu with the rest of francophonie).

And as IRL, Italian speaking part does not exist 🤷🏻‍♂️

But you’ll find plenty of cool communities not related to a country or language. My favourite type are the ones where you can speak about whatever you want.

Also as a nice to know, you can blacklist keywords on several apps (and communities, peoples or instances), that way you can avoid the US politics spam around news communities.

It takes a little while to craft your perfect lemmy experience, but once done it’s a cool place!

WTF is a coach en images? (That’s an easy one to translate but just in case: Image coach).

And what format? JPG, PNG or she’s bold enough for PSD?

Nah don't worry, dude just discovered that border controls still exists, as they have always existed since before EU and Schengen.

I lived my all life at a border, the main thing Schengen changed is that there are way less controls, but not zero (and travelling with an ID and not a passeport, that one is cool).

I will add that OP is just a whiny bitch on the internet for describing Germany with those words and reacting like that for something that is totally normal. It's almost like his brain is really inside the bin.
