I couldn’t disagree more. I’m a UCF fan, I’m very aware of Bortles abilities. He is absolutely not as good as Brissett, there’s a reason he retired while still relatively young for a QB. There’s a reason he was behind Trevor Siemian on the QB depth chart in Denver.

The only part about Wilson that was better than Allen in that game was he threw less turnovers. Allen’s stats were better in pretty much every other way (and that’s with him throwing the ball nearly twice as much because they couldn’t run the ball against the Jets D). And two of the INTs were unforced but one wasn’t, and there’s also the fact that Allen felt the need to play hero ball for a reason, they couldn’t get anything going on the ground and they weren’t moving the ball much in short plays either. To the point that Diggs was getting visibly frustrated (which partially led to one of the unforced turnovers because Allen tried to force him the ball). But I agree, the Jets were kind of gifted that win, but that’s also with the Bills stacking the box because the didn’t fear Wilson in the air (and he didn’t prove them wrong).

I think you’re thinking about this wrong. I don’t think if you run the same plays with a different QB that you’d get better results. I’m saying if you have someone that can be a game manager and set the protections correctly and get 4 to 5 yard passes when you need to, defenses can’t just key in on the run and then Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook will be able to get some runs without being contacted in the back field every play. But Wilson can’t do that, he overthrows screens and he makes terrible decisions that put the ball in danger for now reason. It’s like having Jameis Winston without the occasional explosive play.

I can’t in a million years see Travis doing something like this for marketing. Especially since neither of them need the extra publicity.

What I can see is he made a joke on his podcast and the rumor mill got a little carried away and they decided together to roll with it for kicks.

They should be able to get pretty much any backup with a trade. They’ll get fleeced but trading a couple 4ths or a 2nd isn’t going to kill the team long term and they could legitimately make the Super Bowl with a below average QB (as opposed to dogshit) and some luck.

Jacoby Brissett didn’t do too bad last year with a significantly worse Browns roster. The Jets beat the Bills (a Super Bowl contender) with Zach Wilson. It’s absolutely possible they’d win a Super Bowl with a Jacoby level QB. I’m not saying they’d be a guarantee but no one is. The Jags almost made the Super Bowl with Blake Bortles.

I’m finding out from this that it’s owned by the same company but Hinge has a better formula for that kind of thing. You comment on an aspect of their profile (a picture, their response to a prompt, etc) and that gets sent to them. Then they can reply (which triggers a “match”) or not. You can also send likes without a comment but obviously that won’t be as effective.

Yeah sounds like a Purple Cow, I’d be all over that

Yeah he could be an improvement over Wilson (mostly because that bar is somewhere beneath the earth’s crust), but I don’t get why they won’t pull the trigger and make a move for someone.

I can understand giving him a chance to prove himself this year. I can even be convinced that two chances was worth it. But at this point they have to move on. We’re talking the difference between missing the playoffs and being a Super Bowl contender and all they really need to do is overpay for someone’s backup in a trade. And they can probably do it for a couple 4ths. A 2nd at the worst. That’s not going to cripple them for years.

The Bengals DL was just feasting on them and it just got worse when Noteboom went down. I’m impressed by Bengals D in general, I thought their secondary would lose a step since they lost abates but their young guys seem to be stepping up (as long as the offense is being competent enough to not keep them out there all day).

To be fair, the staff just started. You don’t fire staff after they’ve coached for 3 games regardless of how bad it’s been. And it hasn’t been that bad other than this one game. I don’t have much confidence they’ll get better but you have to give them the chance.

I’d believe it if Jones hadn’t done stuff like this before. Like sticking his leg way up during a slide to kick a Jets defender in the balls last year.
