I was complaining about Lemmy becoming an echo-chamber and not having enough alternative voices.

So rather than just bitching about it, I became the change I wanted to see, and started posting more. :)

Yep, many on Lemmy believe that if you don't hate Trump, then you are a nazi. I know, because many accuse me of that very thing! lol

As a European I am glad Trump is shaking things up.

I didn't vote for him, but I love that he is shaking things up. Getting things done and shaking up the status quo.

Yeah, I just saw a thread from a few days ago trying to ban me. A big thread from a few weeks ago advocated banning me across the entire fediverse.

All because I post news articles about Trump. I don't write them. And I don't even advocate for everything he does. But I post opinions against the norm, so they wanna ban me!

If ya go to your search bar and search for "I'm Calling For the Fediverse to Ban UniversalMonk" thread, it was posted to [email protected]), you'll see they are mad just because I post about Trump. Even tho I didn't vote for him! And they wanted me posted from the entire fediverse! lmao

Nope. And the Lemmy democrats were so in favor of an echo-chamber that they pushed to ban and remove anyone who didn't worship their every move. Then they were shocked they lost. LMAO

I hope he gets arrested, loses his job, and realizes how fucking stupid he is for doing this.

Thanks for your sentiment. Even tho I didn't practice brevity in writing to you, I'm not actually THAT worked up by it. I mean, their actions did inspire me to post more and comment more.

But my political outlook and Lemmy is a very small, hobby-ish part of my life. I'm recently retired so I have lots of time. My Lemmy posting is usually just in between the other fun projects I work on.

Lemmy is still a relatively small community, so the same names often pop up. Which makes it seem that I'm more active than I really am. I check in daily at different times during the day when I have time or am eating, but I'm not on here for hours at a time.

And that's also the reason I can't give you a reasonable critique on the current material conditions of our country. I'm not that educated or well-spoken. I'm pro-union, pro-worker safety, and pro-privacy. I subscribe to socialist material and enjoy reading it and supporting it. And I may start a local chapter of the Socialist Workers party (the party I voted for in the election).

But I am by no means a philosopher/scholar in socialism.

Oh I post all my stupidity publicly! What's funny though is that you thought I was being serious.

Not only do I know that's not how things works, I don't even actually buy eggs. I have 4 hens in my backyard, so I get all my eggs from my own yard. I only have chicken feed during deep winter. The rest of the time they forage. So my eggs are pretty cheap. And organic.

Well looks like that mayor disagrees with you and chose a different approach. And she's a Democrat. More Democrats will see it and then they'll adapt. So you better prepare for your coming annoyance. The Republicans don't support you. And now more and more Democrats don't either.

Hmmm, if only there were a third-party option. But nah, why change the status quo, right?
