More power to yah, my friend. I imagine you can only point to anecdotal evidence to support any of your claims. Let me know if you need me to do some research for you on all the studies that show unions have an overall positive effect for all it's members, and non members who just complain. I get that some union leadership might suck, but I would point you back to the first post where maybe you should do something about it.

I won't even make you pay dues for the first link

I can respect some aspects of that. Not everyone is meant to or even cut out to lead. Good on you for realizing that about yourself.

What I don't understand is how you see the obvious benefits of a union, and how a small portion of your pay check could go a long way to making your own benefits better including increasing your overall pay so that union due are less of a burden on your budget. No one said you had to be in charge. Find one other person who agrees that unions can be/do better and get them to run, because not ever person out there wants to be a greedy mob boss style union leader. A union is about to be the only thing standing between you, and that CEO thinking you're little more than slave labor, because this administration is dismantling as many consumer and worker protections as it can.

Be the change that you want to see. You point out all these things they are doing wrong, have you tried running for a union leadership position and changing the things you see they are doing wrong?

I really love that the thumbnail for an article describing how he lied about videogames shows him doing the Nazi salute

What was Ronald Reagan's famous line about “most terrifying words"? Something like "I’m the republican government, and if you need help you can go fuck yourself".

I think you mean non secular state, secular means without respect to religion.

Edit: or are you saying the state should not be neutral to religion (definition of secular), but dismiss it entirely?

Behind the Bastards does a great podcast about that. Called "How Conservatism Won".

It was an incredibly interesting piece about how Think Tanks are behind the shit show you see before us today. A literal playbook shadow written by a future supreme court justice nominated by Tricky Dick Nixon. It was well worth a listen much like most of BtB stuff is.

Ahh yes! Good ole conservative virtue signaling. They are real life versions of the magnetic yellow ribbons people used to put on their car that say "we support the troops" but the magnet was as far as they went to actually supporting said troops.

No? I'm willing to accept evidence, but I do not believe they have ever actually acted in veterans best interests. Maybe Eisenhower warning us about the military industrial complex, maybe.

But really, why can't they/trump be more like that Jesus fellow they all claim to follow?

You'd think if they cared about these credible allegations, they would care about some of their candidates credible allegations.

I purchased the year ad free sync pro for $16.99 the day it launched. I wanted to support what seemed to be a great app for a new platform even though that was an excessively steep price.

At this point I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

After the last app update every time I opened the app it would crash. I attempted to clear the cache, clear the data, then reinstall the app. It would crash every time I tried to restore my backup. I reached out to the developer first and told them my issue. They initially replied back and said they would look into it and I provided extra information. Went several days with no update and I attempted to contact them again and got no response. I then asked for a refund because it doesn't recognize that I purchased the Pro upgrade. Again no reply. I then tried to get a refund through Google and also no luck and that I should contact the developer.

I will never again purchase sync pro for lemmy or any other platform and I would caution anyone else from spending an arm and a leg for this app when there are plenty of equally good alternatives.

This bill is DOA according to the Senate.

"Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has warned that the “stunningly unserious” bill has no chances in the Senate."
