I was terrible at the game before I accepted how important defense was. Previously I focused hard of attack power and speed, but then you're too fragile for unexpected situations. That and much slower more considered pathing are very helpful. Look around at the rest of the level before you move or act because you might be backing yourself into a corner.

Your username is much more subtle

Yeah, I did both endings on all the difficulties, at least with the default starting item.

Also it's surprisingly rare that someone actually recognizes my username, this is the first time in a while (Assuming your choice of words was not just coincidence)

Currently I just deal with the banners (as annoying as they are) and shed a tear at the state of the modern internet.

In case you didn't know, the "I don't care about cookies" extension was recently sold to Avast. I don't know if anyone has seen them make any sketchy changes yet, but personally I didn't want to trust them and uninstalled it

Yes! The Forgotten City is a great game, I really enjoyed my play through.

  • Ring of Pain is a great roguelike.
  • Paradise Killer - Not actually sure how to describe Paradise Killer, but it's one of my favourite games.
  • The Red Strings Club - Interesting, short and sweet
  • Stephen's Sausage Roll - If you love puzzle games and can't find any that are hard enough for you, it might be the best game ever made. Or the most infuriating.

And then a few that maybe aren't that obscure by now, but I can't not mention them

  • A Short Hike - I think possibly the greatest small indie game of all time? Certainly one of my favourites.
  • Baba Is You - less extreme puzzle game, but it's also great.
  • Inscryption - Just a great game, can't say much about it without spoiling the experience

Really I would consider myself both, but to answer the question you're actually asking Professional.

I've known that software development was what I wanted to do since early in high school, programming has been a large part of my life since then.

I'm working on Ruby on Rails stuff these days, but Python is my true love. I also have a goofy website that I enjoy hacking on.

Thanks for the link 👍

Joined and threw up a post!

I wanted to get an idea of what combinations of wins at what tiers of conquest were needed to get the 1550 medals required to get the exclusive variant from the conquest shop (assuming you get the 9 cheapest purchases).

In the process, I ended up computing all combinations of matches that get you there. I figured there may be others that were interested in that info, so here it is!

There are a couple assumptions baked in to the computation:

  1. It assumes you stop playing games once you get passed 1550 medals
  2. It assumes that if you earn a ticket, you always use that ticket. Since you get a medal reward from just entering Silver+ this is a significant source of medals even if you never win any games in that tier.
  3. The tickets that you will buy from the shop on your way to 9 purchases was not taken into account.

Interesting snippets:

  • A straight shot from Proving Grounds to winning Infinity will give you enough medals
  • It takes 45 Proving Ground wins to get enough medals (assuming you never win a silver game, but do use all your tickets)

It's been too long for me to really have concrete memories of BotW, but at the very least I've spent a lot more time in Totk. I didn't do much more than the sacred beasts before beating the game in BotW, I've done way more side content this time around.

archive.org link to get around paywall.

Yeah, I'm really hoping that things do get better instead of continuing the trend. Maybe I'm just being suckered by Ben Brode's charisma.

I want to get into Runeterra, but I just really enjoy the simplicity of snap.

I've been playing Marvel Snap the last 2 months and have enjoyed some of the discussion on the subreddit.

Obviously that's no longer viable, I'm wondering if the game has enough of a presence to sustain its own dedicated community here.
