the server was down for some minutes because I was migrating from Contabo to NetCup.

The filesystem of the Contabo VPS was corrupt and a lot of other problems over the time, I feel really happy of finally cancelling the contract with Contabo, arcanechat.me was quite often having outages, it was a quite stressful and "traumatic" experience for my first time as a self-hoster.

I thank all the users that endured all the problems and annoyances (often during weekends) I hope things are much more stable now with NetCup 🎉

**EDIT: ** I was a bit frustrated while selecting language in a post and created this question quickly on the heat of the moment and didn't realize I created it in the wrong community, sorry. Thanks to the kind and helpful people that replied.

I can't tell enough how frustrating it is to have to select the post language every time, I would like to set it to English by default instead of explicitly having to select it every time, is it possible? I am using the web interface of https://lemmy.ml/

For some odd reason the arcanechat.me domain disappeared from DNS results, I contacted the domain registrar Porkbun and they did something and it seems now it is propagating again, it seems it was some problem with their nameservers, in some minutes/hours everything should be back to normal.

I am using Lemmy as the official community for my ArcaneChat project (https://lemmy.ml/c/ArcaneChat) I do announcements there when there is a new release sharing "what's new?" etc., this gets federated to mastodon/fediverse but when people reply to the post from mastodon the comments doesn't show up in the community (see https://lemmy.ml/post/27324077), is this normal? I am doing something wrong?
