Recently bought a Vox amPlug headphone amp and started thinking about getting a looper pedal. Do I need a proper amp for this or could I somehow plug the looper between the guitar and headphone amp?

Do you usually use a timer when you meditate or do you stop when you feel "done". If you don’t use a timer, how do you know when to finish?

I’ve usually been meditating with a timer set for 20 minutes, however I’ve been experimenting a bit with ending it early when I feel like I have calmed my mind. I’m not sure what approach I prefer, so I’m curious to hear others experiences.

As the title says, what logging and/or alerting setup do you have? I've used graylog in the past, but find it a bit too complex and "heavy". I would like to something a bit more lightweight. Alternatives I've looked into:

  • Dozzle - this looks nice, and would have been a perfect fit but it looks like it's only for docker containers, I would like to collect all syslogs and everything in one place
  • Grafana Loki - Haven't looked too much into this, but considering replacing Graylog with this. I don't know if it feels less complex so I'm a bit on the fence.

Any other recommendations?

I've been trying to use both BookWyrm and Storygraph. I prefer Storygraphs UI and they have a larger library of books (it seems). However I would like to mainly use BookWyrm to help with the network effect, as well as to contribute with adding books

I've been meditation almost daily for 15-20 minutes the last 1.5 months. I enjoy the pratice, and it is nice and relaxing, however I find the changes, if any, to be very subtle (to the point that they might as well be placebo).

Curious to hear your experiences.

Any suggestions for where to find people near my skill level to play with? For reference, I'm in my late 20s.

Any suggestions on where to find a band to join?

Makes sense. I guess a jam would be a good place to find bandmates as well? We have a few jams in my town, but they're very audience heavy. I feel a bit intimidated to go and play in front of so many people.

As the title says, at what point did you feel competent enough to join a band? I've been playing the guitar for almost 2 years now, and feel like I hit a bit of a plateau, and I'm thinking joining a band might help. At the same time, I don't really feel like I am good enough to play with others.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that the project you linked to has been abandoned. I tried contributing a while back but didn’t get anything merged. Therefore I started a fork which is a bit more active, and has some improvements. I’ll admit that I haven’t been super active lately, but if anyone wants to contribute, PRs are very welcome :)

Got a hole, yet again in my climbing shoes and need to buy some new ones before a climbing trip I'm going on next weekend so looking for some input. What's your favorite shoes, and why do you like them?

Obviously I will look stupid for this, but I run my tires way too much down on a road trip I’m currently doing. I’m driving 1700km (~1000miles) from the north of Norway to the south. The tires should’ve probably have been changed before I left. Either way, I’m stuck about 500km (~300miles) from my destination. Fortunately I managed to find new tires with the correct dimensions close by. But, moral of the story, don’t run your tires down like this.

Curious what bikes other people have? Personally I have a Honda CB400N from 1983. Been riding it around for 4 years or so ever since I got my license. It’s a wonderful bike, but a bit cramped for all the touring I do with it (I’m quite tall). Picture

Oslo: Tim Wendelboe and Fuglen coffee. When I used to live in Copenhagen: Prolog and Coffee Collective

I’m looking to wall mount a 55” TV at home. It’s weight is specified at about 13kg. Will it be fine to only fasten it in the stud on one of the sides? Our walls are regular drywall.
