It's rough and tough out here. If I knew I was going to be illegal as a kid I would've been so hyped for what crimes I did, but apparently just existing is one ahaha.

Thank you friend. Unfortunately because of how deep red my state and how stupid the UK is with this stuff I'm stuck. Just hunkering down and preparing for the worst.

Wish I could lol. Broke as shit and I can't just leave my family behind. Unfortunately to get Real ID I have to provide my citizenship documents but those are in my deadname + birth sex and I can't get them fixed without a baseline of $1k (have to pay for at least 2 private doctors in the UK to verify I am my chosen gender, plus court fees and 18+ months processing time).

Thank you admins for your diligence when it comes to things like this (esp in regards to CSAM).

All this reminds me of is that video of that guy who's friend "upgraded" his shower pressure. And it was just one hyper-powerful stream out of the whole shower head. Wish I had a link.

I'm really good at smelling food and when it's about to go off. If my nose even picks up a hint of rot that's all I can smell. It's really bad right now because our fridge died so everything smells like carcass in the house right now (even though it's gone).

Listen, I understand where you're coming from. But plant farming can be just as bad as animal farming. They cut down massive swaths of local wildlife, trees, flora, and use pesticides and other means that soak into the ground water and run off into lakes and streams. That affects literally everything too.

Yes, animal farming causes massive emissions. It's filled with cruelty and waste. But so is plant farming. You can sustainably farm. But if you shop anywhere but your own back yard you're contributing to that pollution. The produce we get at markets and stores comes from those big battery farms. Even farmer's markets aren't safe anymore - at least here the sellers are no longer small-time farmers. They're resellers and from the big company owned farms that have more acres than workers. Because it's too expensive for small time farmers to keep up with demand.

Vegan leather is so much worse for the enviroment than leather made from skin. Actual leather decomposes and becomes food for the earth. Vegan leather is usually made of plastic. The nail polish my spouse found recently is vegan - it's made with plastics rather than biodegradable materials like beetle shells and plant-based colors.

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. You are a part of this cycle too.

"Treat others the way you want to be treated" is such a core belief of mine. Im in my late 20s now and I'm more and more disheartened by how rare it is to meet people who believe it. Growing up I couldn't understand. Now that I'm older I still have issues coming to terms with it. People suck and it sucks.

The thing is I don't think I would mind advertising if it wasn't shoved down my throat 24/7. The fact I can't read a webpage without ads blocking everything, I can't watch TV without more than half of the show's runtime being ads in and out of segments, I can't even step outside without seeing the billboard or another 5 ads shoved in my mailbox!

I get 15 some-odd emails a day from different companies trying to get me to buy things. I block them and they pop up with a different email address. I can't even open my email without ads popping up masquerading as actual messages (Gmail). Don't get me started on the entire Google app thing.

I can't open an online map without getting SPONSERED listings. And places I use the app to order from try to advertise me their own food WHILE I'M ORDERING. Panda Express started asking me if I want a subscription to Starz or whatever.

NO. NO. NO.

I'm exhausted. I want to go to a store without being immediately inundated with ads or sellers. "Buy this!" NO. LEAVE ME ALONE.

I'm overwhelmed. I'm overstimulated. I'm done. I don't care how "quirky" or "flashy" or "hip" your ads are. I refuse to buy anything I see ads for now. It's too much. Shut up.

TL;DR: we need controls and limits to who, what, where, and how things are advertised. It should be an enforcable crime to have ads louder than a certain decibel for one. But it's not enforced and fines aren't more than a drop in the bucket. I doubt I'll see it in ny lifetime.

thank goodness!!!

Quote from EqualityOhio:

" Yesterday, the Ohio House just introduced Sub. HB 96—a state budget proposal that goes beyond funding issues to actively harm Ohio families, public schools, and marginalized communities including LGBTQ+ Ohioans and our allies. This budget proposal would:

  • Defining Gender as only two sexes.
  • Requirement that all books in libraries that reference sexual orientation or gender identity be made inaccessible to minors.
  • Prohibition on funding for homeless shelters that are affirming a young person’s social transition.
  • Requires public libraries to segregate materials related to sexual orientation and gender identity, restricting access for young people under 18.
  • Dismantles the bipartisan Fair School Funding Plan.
  • Funnels more public tax dollars into private schools with little oversight.
  • Strips Ohioans of elected representation on the State Board of Education.
  • Enforces outdated retention policies that disproportionately harm LGBTQ+, Black, and brown students.
  • Pushes government overreach into public education with forced religious instruction time."
