He’s a scorpion and his supporters are frogs.

The Scorpion and the Frog is an animal fable which teaches that vicious people cannot resist hurting others even when it is not in their own interests and therefore should never be trusted. This fable seems to have emerged in Russia in the early 20th century.

A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: "I am sorry, but I couldn't help myself. It's my character."

Well yeah it isn’t a perfect analogy. Replace FDR with Churchill if you want.

But also America joined the war in December 1941 so it wasn’t at the very end. And sent a huge amount of equipment to England and Russia, like was done for Ukraine under Biden.

Remember when FDR tried to stop Hitler’s invasion of France by tweeting at Hitler?

He doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt on this and should not be allowed to say such stupid shit as if he’s just some guest on a right wing podcast. He actually controls the world’s most powerful military and can make an invasion happen tomorrow.

His threats against allies and sovereign nations should be grounds for impeachment and removal from office before he does more damage do world stability and the reputation of the US.

Um. This isn’t ethical behavior.

Trump says he wants to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, among other reasons he’s given for tariffs.

Oh so he admits his tariffs are illegal. Because tariffs are only legally levied by congress except as a wartime emergency.

So whoever is actually implementing the tariffs should just ignore the illegal order.

Damn the people are dumb as fuck

Around the time of the election he was saying something about “God spared me so I could be president again”.

Yeah no. If there was a supernatural force at work it wasn’t a holy one. He either made a deal with the devil or he has a monkey’s paw.

Maybe you would like that fan fiction Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. A large part of it is poking fun at how magic works and how wizards behave and how dumb Quidditch is.

For example there are all kinds of rules about Transfiguration that don’t make sense and that is explored quite a bit.

He’s going to make money of supplements and other stuff marketed with “Make America Healthy Again” branding.

When hearing that, you might say “aren’t there ethics rules that prevent government officials from profiting from the policies they enact or promote?”

And then you don’t hear a response from me because I died laughing.

No.

Not everything should be privatized so some asshole oligarch can have another toy.
