Someone in the ask section recommended Thunder as an option so I'll try that out as well to see if it works with these sites.
That's weird I had no problem adding my account that's on this instance. I downloaded it through the appstore though so it might be a more stable version. I just put the github link up for android users.

Ya I was doing that originally. I'll probably go back to doing that now. The only issue is that I don't think it shows the preview image. For me it's just a black box.
Ya sorry. I've tried all the actual gif formats and none of them work correctly. Server space is obviously an issue so hopefully integration with redgifs improves and this will be moot.
