My wife and I have had our location shared with each other for years, but it's not a "Are they cheating?" thing. I have been married for 14 years and never wonder if my wife is cheating on me. It's just incredibly useful for seeing how far away one of us is from home to do things like plan dinner prep times, know where to look for a lost phone, etc. If you can't trust your SO, there is something wrong that you need to address and micro-managing where they are is toxic.

Also, do yourself a favor use something open source and/or self hosted. Home Assistant, for example, has the ability to track location data for iOS and Android devices and pin that location to a map. Don't give your location data to corporations to be used for data mining.

Call me old fashioned, but I put it in the same bucket as a prenup: If you're always prepping your heart and mind for a split, you'll always have one foot out the door. Not everyone will agree with me, but that's how I feel and it's why I don't have one. Find yourself someone who is ride or die, if you are looking for a lifetime partner. Don't settle for someone you can't trust with your life.

That said, not everyone is looking for monogamy for the rest of their life, either, and that's OK, too.

Colbert had a monologue a few days before being cancelled calling Paramount's settlement a bribe.

You can just remove the "feels like" part. They were bloated and badly made.

Wow. A generative AI hallucinating? How absolutely shocking! -Said no one ever-

As someone with both, it's either feast or famine, depending on how interesting my brain finds it.

I read nearly cover to cover the National Electric Code because I wanted to rewire my house and I found the standards fascinating.

I could not read through my AWS training materials because AWS is boring AF.

I'm sure it's totally coincidence with the settlement, Colbert's Late Show being cancelled, and now this. Yup. Nothing to see here.

This is neat. I'm not sure how many people are still using these GPUS.....but it's still neat.

This kind of random shit with Microsoft just blows my mind.

Google is just as bad. Look at their messaging apps. Is it Duo? No that name died and was merged into Google Meet. However, old Google Meet is....uh....Google Meet Classic? I think? And then there is/was Google Voice, Allo, Google Talk.......

And people wonder why I just use and donate to apps like Signal.

Like any of these dumb fucks care. My opinion of Trump supporters is so low, I'm certain Trump could whip his dick out, smack every one of them in the face, and they'd still vote for him.

Their stupidity knows no limits.

They probably don't taste very good.

Better to just burn them like witches.

Given that Windows 11 won't support your device, Linux may be your only option for a supported OS.

Intel B580 Gamers (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 week ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hey all!

I'm currently looking to upgrade my Radeon 6600 8GB GPU in my primary gaming rig and I'm currently torn between the Radeon 9600 XT 16GB, which is a "known variable" or the Intel B580 12GB. Obviously, the B580 is around $75-100 cheaper comparing MSRP to MSRP and I've been seeing both pop randomly into stock the last few weeks where I could nab either with a properly timed deal alert.

I'm wondering how all of you Intel Battlemage gamers on Linux have been enjoying your cards. I know Intel has done a lot of work to make it work well on Linux, but there is MUCH less coverage of performance on Linux than on Windows. Most stuff I see is from launch time, which is 6+ months ago, and I know driver support has gained a lot of ground since then.

My primary rig is an AM4-based system with a 5800X CPU, so REBAR and PCIe 4.0 are not a problem for me.
