It's basically the fuselage and wings of a F-22 with the tail of a YF-23, but point taken. Anyway, put canards on it and I'd wear that t-shirt.

TBH China's population is likely less than the official figure, but they could easily accommodate more. There are tons of empty apartment buildings everywhere, and most of the country is still empty. Most people don't intuitively grasp population density at scale but it's shocking how little space we all take up with good urbanism.

Barton has always had an axe to grind with Carney, but was a total fangirl for Trudeau (who I would say is less trustworthy). It's bizarre.

Sorry, but we don't want it. Cali has more Republicans than Texas so it would swamp us with way more far-right than we already have.

Sorry, "Felon" is already taken: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-57

OP: love the aesthetic but that's a F-22

we launched Mwmbl, the open source, non-profit search engine, on Boxing Day 2021

Oh and it's nonamerican too? Definitely going to try this out.

I'm going to miss Charlie so much — especially this current "I'm retiring and will say whatever I want" iteration.

Btw, did the US buy the plans or strike some kind of deal regarding the Arrow?

The US (and everyone else, really) were already working on similar designs. I'm not an expert but I think they were all shelved; the UK ones certainly were, because they started on their own designs after considering buying the Arrow. The major loss was many Avro staff who went to the US. That's what I was referring to when I said the Americans gutted our program; we never fully recovered from that brain drain. We've maintained a pretty strong aerospace sector (the Canadarm being a famous example) but in the 50s we were world-class.

Well, yes, but no. The Arrow was a good plane but was already obsolete even during the design stage, because the role of interceptors was replaced by missiles. Avro engineers however could of course have been reassigned to something else.

There is no compromise with MAGA. The conservatives need to purge that element of their party.

He called his nominations a "wartime cabinet" and based on his actions, he wasn't using that term metaphorically.

How’d they get into his phone? Face or fingerprint?

I was looking for this as well. It seems like a rather important piece of info for the article to leave out.

Leopards will enjoy a well-deserved meal. A few choice morsels:

In the 2008 presidential election, more than 75% of Madawaska voters cast their ballots for Barack Obama, a Democrat. Last November, Donald Trump received just over 50% of Madawaska’s vote, becoming the first Republican presidential candidate to carry the town in decades.

“My father had 13 kids. We all lived and worked on the farm. We were born and raised Democrats because back then, in the ’40s and ’50s, the Democrats were the working man’s party,” Morneault said. “When I told my dad I’d turned Republican, he called me a turncoat. A traitor.”

Both Morneault and Campagna say their politics are informed by their religion. The bulk of their support for Trump comes from his opposition to abortion, and much of their disdain for Democrats comes from their support for LGBTQ+ rights.

In which China tells Cuba that it should stop being so communist if it wants to succeed:

China publicly supports Cuba’s right to choose its own path to economic development “in line with its national conditions”, but privately Chinese officials have long urged the Cuban leadership to shift from its vertically planned economy to something closer to the Chinese model, according to economists and diplomats briefed on the situation.

Chinese officials have been perplexed and frustrated at the Cuban leadership’s unwillingness to decisively implement a market-oriented reform programme despite the glaring dysfunction of the status quo, the people said.

Sorry if this kind of question isn't allowed here, but I'm at my wit's end. VB randomly started launching on startup about 2 weeks ago (on EndeavourOS) and I can't figure out why. There's no shortcut in ~/config/autostart, it isn't in the KDE startup apps list, and I can't find anything virtualbox-related with systemctl either. There's also no setting in the VB app itself. WTF?

Based on recommendations in that thread, I also checked:

/etc/systemd/system
/etc/default/
vboxautostart.service
KDE "restore session" settings

Any ideas are much appreciated!

I don't think I've seen anyone else here with an 8:9 monitor, so I'll break the ice! The color theme is Layan Light; everything else is stock KDE.

I stumbled upon this community for the first time a few minutes ago. I like gardening and houseplants, but never heard of people recretionally growing mushrooms of the non-magical kind. Is it for food?

It seems the bot has stopped reposting content from Reddit?

This was recorded in Cleveland for a radio broadcast; the tape became available as a bootleg and is known as one of the most important ones in the band's history.

It's the first-ever recording of "Fly by Night" and only their third performance with Neil. We can hear snippets of what would later become "By-Tor and the Snow Dog" in the Working Man solo.

A quote from Geddy regarding bootlegs:

A lot of people say 'It takes away from record sales' but [...] the fact is that any fan who buys a bootleg is still going to buy your record. So, who is it harming?

Good interview with Geddy about his autobiography: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHkvpWMTuUI

Just picked one up. This is the best price I've seen this year. Very strange monitor but awesome for work - it even serves as a USB-C docking station with 90W power delivery.

I've been using Linux on and off for about 15 years, but was never able to make the leap to using it full-time until PopOS. It's been painless to use and does everything I need with only minor tweaks. Thank you System76! I can't wait until the Cosmic DE is released.

(too bad about the name, though...)
