I don't think they're saying it's good economics and yes, for the most part, we understand how these tariffs will affect us.

But there's a lot of anger at Trump here. Booing the American national anthem is not something we do lightly. I haven't seen people this united for a common cause for a long time. I regularly see people checking labels at grocery stores to avoid buying American even if we have to pay more.

We know a recession is likely for both countries and we'll be hit harder by it. It's a small price to pay for our sovereignty.

I think kickassduke42 and I have been using the same source of info. It's all thanks to mrrobvs at the other site and started with this post. Prior to that, I had always used various resellers at 2x-5x of what I'm paying now.

I'm surprised that group hasn't been taken down yet. Maybe we could find a way to post reviews of the various services, something that doesn't clutter up the community and makes it easy to search for relevant info.

So what exactly are the rules here about discussing various providers and sources. I'm not a reseller (have no intention of becoming one) but I do have useful info to share. Would be nice to have a dedicated lemmy community that is safe from the usual takedowns & spam.

They have to get Kuzma and Poole out of there and start following the Pistons example. They have Coulibaly, Sarr and whoever they get this year. Get a couple of decent vets and let them teach the young guys how to play properly.

That listing is for a Sandy/Ivy bridge processor from 2011. I would really recommend something newer than Skylake at the minimum. For reference:

Something to also keep in mind is the codec support of the GPU for hardware decoding and transcoding if that's important to you. The Optiplexes will mostly be fine in this regard but if you see yourself needing AV1 support anytime soon, Intel's N line is an efficient and relatively cheap option. Getting HDR tone mapping working at the hardware level might also be something to look out for.

Agreed but that's just life in Linux in general. If epic and gog don't want to do the work to have a legitimate option in Linux (makes sense given market share), we'll keep doing the best we can with the hacky options while supporting the platform that is putting in the work.

Only if they're good games that people are still interested in playing. Crappy games slash prices all the time. Exhibit A: Suicide Squad

The article is from 2022. I'm guessing if it was written today, it would be about bluesky.

TSMC has been raising prices on their high-demand nodes but there are rumours of them finally cutting prices on their 6 and 7nm nodes which should reduce the manufacturing costs of the current-gen consoles. Whether it happens in time to make a difference this life cycle remains to be seen.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of selfhosted note-taking apps. https://selfh.st/apps/?tag=Note-Taking

Unfortunately, this is going to be a bit of a journey. You'll probably end up going through a few of these options until you find one that works for you and fits your workflow.
