I sometimes install old OSes on virtual machines purely for the nostalgia. Pair that with some old versions of applications like WinAmp and you've got a fun way to spend an evening.

Welcome friend :)
Still can't forgive them for launching the Steam version at full price after a year of being Epic exclusive. I pirated it anyway...
Man, Hitman 3 still hasn't dropped in price after 2 and a half years?
My issue with bot posts is that they lack the authenticity that comes with an actual user's posts. Isn't it really nice when an OP sometimes responds to your comments, especially on subs like r/askreddit?
I don't think we should worry about "user engagement" and growth so much. These are just metrics that companies use to increase profit and get advertisers. People here have already pointed out that they feel more engaged on Lemmy because their submissions feel more valued in this smaller community—they don't get lost amongst a thousand other comments like on reddit.
I think the focus should be on creating a space where people can have genuine conversations, even if only a few people are involved.
It only becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy if you go into every situation thinking like that. Most people are pretty decent, it's only that they try to do what they believe is right.
There are ways to detect private browsing by querying browser features or behaviours that are different in private browsing.
For example, in Firefox calling Navigator.serviceworker
returns undefined
if private browsing is enabled.
Check out this script for ways to detect this in popular browsers:

I found another site that seems to use the same backend and pdf renderer. I looked at the network tab, and it downloads a .epdf file, but I'm not sure how to open it. If you want to have a go at cracking it, here's a link to it: https://pastebin.com/w6JkNDYH
Looks like the link you shared is not set to public. Just a heads-up—Google Drive will show your account name and profile picture for shared files. If you don't want that, you could upload the image directly here in a Lemmy comment, or use something like Pixelfed.
If you are not able to share the name of the website, could you maybe share a screenshot of how the PDF is displayed on the website? That would a bit more helpful towards solving your problem.
The banana phone (Nokia 8110 4G) is also a fun dumb phone.
I kinda like it, and hope we see more of this. Maybe skeuomorphism is not the best idea for UI elements these days, but for things like icons it makes perfect sense.
Many apps in iOS still use beautifully detailed icons which make for eyecandy without sacrificing functionality.
